Daimler yesterday unveiled to the world their preliminary, unaudited figures for the 2007 financial year, with the company achieving EBIT of EUR 8,710 million in 2007. This figure surpasses Daimler's 2006 EBIT of EUR 4,992 million by an impressive margin, and also improves on the EUR 8.5 billion target set earlier in the year. A primary factor which contributed to the gain was the strong performance from the company's Mercedes-Benz Cars division, which posted EBIT of EUR 4.753 million (2006: EUR 1,783 million), while a negative impact was felt as a result of a number of special items, including expenses relating to the Chrysler transaction.

As for Daimler's net profit, it increased slightly, rising to EUR 4.0 billion (compared to EUR 3.66 billion in 2006). Group revenue totalled EUR 99.4 billion - equalling that of the prior year - while earnings per share reached EUR 3.83 (as opposed to EUR 3.66 in 2006).

To learn more about Daimler's 2007 financial results complete with detailed figures for each of the company's various divisions, you can find the full details in the official press release below.

Great news. Which mean we'll continue to see much improved Mercedes-Benzes. Some of this profit though was achieved by being elcheapo on the CLC...lol.
