Rumours circulating from the company suggests that the Managing Director of BMW M GmbH, Prof. Ulrich Brunhke, has resigned from the company. Gerhard Richter, Director of Development for BMW M GmbH, will be appointed as his successor.

The reson for Brunhke's surprise departure is believed to be the appointment of Dr Klaus Draeger as BMW's new R&D boss. Brunhke was a contender for the executive position, and he was very dissapppointed in being passed-over for the position.

There are some people in Germany stating that Bruhnke is/was the wrong guy for this job whereas Gerhard Richter seems to be Mr. Right as a true M - enthusiast. Time will tell...

Scott could clarify, but where is he? Busy with M3 concept shooting?

Best regards, south

Herr Richter is a Development Director of M, while Herr Bruhnke is a CEO. Meaning Bruhnke is more employed with running the company than M car developments. While Richter is responsible for engineering & development. And it is just OK Richter is on such position than being a CEO (and so away from day-to-day engineering).

Herr Bruhnke was employed by BMW AG (he came from AMG) to re-organize M division to be able to produce & develop more cars more quickly, since BMW decided to widen M & M CSL model range.

M3 Concept ... A very thrilling teaser is in the works ... The engine sound is AMAZING! Goosebumps guaranteed! I hope Scoot hadn't transformed himself into a goose already. :D

He won't be changing any ideals overthere as those tuners have their own ideologies of what a sports sedan should be in regards to the Audi or MB image. ;)
