China to become Porsche’s third biggest market

Facing stagnant sales in most developed markets, the world’s luxury carmakers have been enjoying the massive growth of both the Chinese and Indian economies to drive expansion for at least the next decade. China, in particular, seems to have an almost insatiable appetite for luxury cars and has already started challenging Japan and the UK for sales.
A Chinese newspaper is now reporting that the country may become the third largest market for Porsche this year, coming in behind Germany and the U.S. with sales figures approaching 4,000. Though this is only one quarter of U.S. sales, and around one-tenth of German sales, the figure still remains impressive when you consider just over 2,000 vehicles were sold last year.
Super-luxo carmakers Bentley and Rolls Royce are also experiencing record growth on the back of sales to emerging market so it looks like they’ve got a bright future ahead of them.
