Honestly, a Panamera Turbo with an ECU upgrade is a better deal. Saved myself quite a bit while having a quicker and lighter car.

5300 lb for a Porsche is disgrace, frankly speaking. For reference the S65 saloon a few hundred pounds lighter with a heavy V12.

Welll its not really only about the power, it’s the hybrid system and it’s benefits and also penalty in terms of weight so it’s kind of comparing apples and oranges.

Now you can get the 4 e hybrid and ecu it to 580hp and it has the same engine power and range when it comes to the electric motor as the turbo S..

So you can save damn near 100k or you can spend it and gain 2 things.
1. 100hp
2. The fold out kick ass wing

Seems like a pretty crappy deal to me :)

This is probably the heaviest sedan you can buy today. It definitely shows that it was built on a VW platform. Adding batteries to combustion engines at this present moment is not worth it, even Porsche can’t get it right.

It is definitely not built on a VW platform, but in the future (and presently by Bentley) VW will take use of the Porsche's platform.

“ The 2017 Panamera is the first car to use VolkswagenGroup’s new MSB (modular standard drivetrain) assembly toolkit.” Redirect Notice

My point was it’s not a dedicated platform like the 911 and therefore will have compromises.
Here can you see which cars form wv brand have the same platform.
List of Volkswagen Group platforms - Wikipedia
That seems about right, MSB is VW’s platform even though Porsche may have been the first to use it.
