Can BMW build a real sports car?

Keeping in line with BMWi's focus, it would be much less energy-intensive to drop the curtains than having to employ a small motor to raise the curtains well out of view.

Will M have a say in the design process of the I8 or will they simply do the usual M version of the car ?

The fact of the matter is, that if BMW M can take a simple 1 series or 3 series and turn it into a 1M or M3, then it is only reasonable to expect that if they build a bespoke M sportscar/supercar, that it will be epic and be more than a match for ANYTHING.

Yeah, that is what I think too, problem is, when BMW decides to build an M supercar, it will not be what is expected from a supercar today. Therefore, it will be regarded as an outcast, unless there are others like it.

I don't think we've heard anything about an M version of the i8. I think such a car would contradict with the i part of the i8. Would be nice though...!
Just thinking... what would they call it? Mi8 ? ..hmm, as long as Tom Cruise is still jumping on couches there's still a chance of Mission Impossible 8. How about i8M ...hmm.. sounds like I-ate-'em...which could be quite appropriate if M were given the green light to have fun with it! Buuut... it'll never happen.

I think we can let go of the idea of a BMW supercar, but an honest sports car that competes with the likes of the R8, SLS, 458, etc.... yeah, sounds like such a car is on the drawing boards. Should be worth the wait!
