Buick Avenir concept unveiled, previews a possible flagship sedan
Buick has officially unveiled their new Avenir concept.
Set to debut at the North American International Auto Show, the Avenir is a flagship sedan with a prominent waterfall grille that is flanked by LED headlights. Moving further back, we can see ventilated front fenders, curvaceous body work and a "boattail" rear end. The concept also has muscular rear fenders and 21-inch alloy wheels.

The knock-out styling continues in the cabin as drivers will find themselves surrounded by high quality materials including premium leather upholstery, silk and bamboo wood trim. The car also has ambient lighting, an ionic air filtration system, a wireless smartphone charger and an IntelliLink infotainment system with a 12-inch display.

Speaking of the latter, there's a driver recognition system which recognizes the driver and automatically loads their music preferences, calendar schedule and recently visited destinations.

Since the Avenir was designed to be a flagship, it comes loaded with high-end features including individual rear seats which are separated by a full-length center console. Rear seat passengers are also treated to a dual screen entertainment system which promises to let them relax and enjoy the journey.

Buick was coy on technical specifications but confirmed the model is powered by a "next-generation" V6 engine that has direct-injection, a start/stop system and cylinder deactivation technology. It is connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a twin-clutch all-wheel drive system.

It's a good looking car but does look a little anonymous, maybe too much like an Opel as @shonguiz mentioned.

I like it.

It does have a resemblance to Opel and the Australian Holden .......but they are also both GM brands so it is not so surprising.

I think the Insignia is sold in the US and China under the Buick badge, as well as some other Opel product, might explain some resemblance.

Go figure....but with that protruding grill and those headlights shape, I see some Maserati Quattroporte in it....

^
I do to...
It`s not that bad, will definitely stand out from everything else on the road.
With a lower roofline I think this concept would work better as a two door coupe.

lol, a tiny bit over-critical there, don't you think H.?

It looks pretty good in the video. It seems ready for production.

Its only charming features are the C-Pillar and rear fenders, which is Bentley Mulsanne meets Passat CC. Actually, it does look very elegant in motion which is a shame because it's a concept that's easy to overlook because it looks like a larger Opel Insignia.

Looks like a Holden since it was designed by Holden, interestingly not their best works. I still have the Efijy and the Hurricane as Holden's most stunning and advanced concepts.
