Veyron Bugatti are preparing ultimate Veyron SS

The Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is a mid-engine sports car designed and developed in Germany by the Volkswagen Group and Bugatti, and manufactured in Molsheim, France by French automobile manufacturer Bugatti. It was named after the racing driver Pierre Veyron.
I'm not claiming superiority in any way. There's many compromises that you'd have to do to DD that Ford GT (with a full chute lol) I'm just saying that 288 mph isn't that ludicrous if cars can reach that speed in merely ONE MILE. The acceleration must be insane.

I don't think anyone was denying your point here, just that in the case of the Bugatti no real compromise was or has ever been made to achieve it's speed. I'm fairly certain that had VW wanted the ultimate speed demon regardless of compromises they wouldn't have ended up with anything remotely like the Veyron we have today and it wouldn't have cost anything like the amount it does.

Just a little bit more additional information

The new 1,600bhp Bugatti Veyron will be the world's fastest supercar when it arrives next year

If the standard Veyron isn’t fast enough for you, Bugatti is developing an all-new ‘super’ Veyron – according to reports – and these exclusive images show how it could look.
The car will be capable of hitting nearly 290mph and covering 0-62mph in a mind-bending 1.8 seconds. That’s 30mph and seven-tenths up on the current 1,183bhp Veyron Super Sport.
To achieve this incredible performance, Bugatti will hike power to around 1,600bhp and cut 250kg from the kerbweight.
“We are working on the next super-sports car,” chief vehicle engineer Jens Schulenburg told us. “The big challenge will be reducing weight – we are looking at some incredible technologies, such as wheels made entirely from carbon fibre. We’re considering hybrids, too.”
The same quad-turbo W16 engine will be used, but capacity could be increased from 8.0 to 9.6 litres in order to liberate more power. The addition of an electric motor could help hit the 1,600bhp target, too. Our images show the car will get a lower, more slippery body to boost aerodynamics, while keeping the Veyron’s distinctive grille and proportions.
It seems we won’t have a long wait before the world’s fastest car is unveiled, either – it’s set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013.

The use of carbon fiber wheels are entirely likely, Koenigsegg have just started to offer them on their cars. I am less sure of the hybrid part though, firstly it will add a lot of weight, secondly where are they going to find space to fit this system?

Finally some official words about the existence of this project. The Veyron is one hell of a liquid cooled car and if they want to even get close to the 250kg weight reducing they would need to make Veyron better at getting cooled by air. Currently it uses about 40kg of coolant. Instead of using old fashion radiators Bugatti could use a bit of F1 tech such as surface cooling and heat resistant materials such as Pyrosic for the exhaust manifold.

a new bugatti in ten months seems not possible: I suppose in september we'll see a "preview"...

They might also decrease the size/number of radiators, increase the pressure of the cooling system, that way they can carry more heat with a physically smaller cooling system.

Yupp. There are ways to improve. Lets not forget that the Veyron is almost 7 years old and development within VAG moves very quickly.
