Hi all!
Being a huge fan of german cars and several years ago an admin of geman car fan group in social network, i started my project back in 2013. It was called "History of German Automobile", an electronic book (PDF). First, it was a history of major German brands from beginning to WW2, and BMW to E36. Recently i added much more information. Currently it has 830 pages and such chapters:
1) History of internal cumbustion engine.
2) History of first cars with internal cumbustion engine. Wilhelm Maybach, Karl Benz, Gottlieb Daimler.
3) Ferdinand Porsche and development of VW Beetle.
4) History of Maybach.
5) History of Mercedes-Benz to SL R129.
6) History of BMW to 3-series E36.
7) History of Auto Union/Audi to V8 (D1).
8) History of Opel to 1945.
9) Quick look at BBS.
10) Racecars. Development of Mercedes CLK-GTR.
11) Racecars. Development of Porsche 911 GT1.
12) Racecars. Development of Dauer 962 LeMans.
13) Supercars. Development of Bugatti Veyron.
It less than 50% of planned work. In future there should be complete story of all major and some little German brands (including tuning) to our days and a big chapter of German motorsport (Now history of Silver Arrows is being preparing). The idea is to combine the story of all brands under one book and make it interesting not for kids, but for adults, and make it easy to read.
Im doing everything alone. no single help was. Mostly information is taken from web, filtering and compilating into new articles, full of stats and facts with minimum of blah-blah. Many pictures used for better viewing of overall picture. The information is deep enough (its way not a copy of wikipedia), with many rare facts, but isnt that big that take you months to read and became boring.
The problem for non-russian speaking users is that book is on russian (Im myself ukrainian). I tried to find some options on Kickstarter to find donates on translation into English, but its hard to register there from East Europe with my credit debt card.
I'd like to ask the community here, could such book be interesting to European people, if i ever find a translator, or not.
