Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm starting to like the looks of baby-brother SUV Coupes.

It has to be said that pictures don't do justice to the X4 - car looks much better and much more interesting in real life.

Oh Audi, Where Art Thou?

This is how i see them:

X4:

Both ugly... (n)(n)(n)(n)

Oh, and btw, design wise, the interior of X4 looks at least 1000000000000000 better than that ugly $h!t of GLC... What's next? A and B class, maybe evenSmart will have a copy/paste S class' interior... Talk about loosing exclusivity (S class)...

I too find the X4 good look, more so than the new X6 who's tail lights are unflattering for the size and shape of the rear. The only thing that let's the X3 down is dated steering wheels and Infotainment screen. Other than that it makes a stronger case for its existence than the "Yet-another-new-Mercedes-with-the-same-face" GLC Coupe.

My only, and big, gripe about baby SUV is their practical credentials *Looking at you Macan and Evoque*. However the X4 and GLC Coupe seem to match the roominess of the 4er Grancoupe and A5 Sportback.

GLC Coupe: sleeker, more elegant, more fashionable.
X4: bulkier & beefier, more aggressive & sportier, more robust.

Different styling for different taste. I approve. The same case with GLE coupe vs X6. Sleeker fashionable elegance vs bulkier & more robust sportiness.

I would rather die than being seen driving a Benz. :D But I like the latest curvier designs of Benz sedans & coupes very much, C class in particular. Not a fan of Benz SUCs (sic!) and SUVs though.

I truly fail to see what's sleeker on the GLC. The shapes of both cars are near identical.
I can understand the elegance vs bulky comparison, but both cars are equally sleek (which means totally not sleek).

I am not a fan of MB's latest design direction. It may work on the sedans, but it doesn't feel right with the SUVs. The GLC looks like an over-inflated balloon to me. It looks fat and bulky, despite the carefully executed details. The X4, on the other hand, feels to me more athletic, edgier and sporty. Not as right as the shape of an X5, but still good enough.

Now as far as the interiors are concerned, sadly the X4 is a failure. The area around the HVAC controls is good, but executed terribly in comparison to the F10. The steering wheel is nice, but lost in a world of black, unimaginative plastic. At least the screen isn't floating. The interior of the GLC is miles better, but doesn't belong there. It should remain in the C.

If I were to choose one, which is highly unlikely, I would choose the X4, only because I strongly despise MB's latest SUV exterior styling.

Sleek ... more flowing lines, rounder panels, shallower & longer greenhouse, longer roof line etc Perhaps I should say "more fluid" or "more flowing" instead of "sleeker" styling. Better? ;)
