This just goes back to the old M1 Hommage " Will they or wont they"

If you go back to my posts in that thread you see I dismiss the strategy fanboys reckon it should be in favour of what BMW are actually discussing in a type of car of this calibre.

Lightweight materials , Better efficiency and groundbreaking technology either Mild or full hybrid. It wont if green-lighted become an Audi R8 Rival or Mercedes-Benz SLC and have maximum power and poor economy.

It would stand apart from the crowd . And that means a very convincing showcase for Efficient Dynamics.

Despite BMW not having built a true supercar for 30 years since its original M1 model, a "high ranking insider" at the firm insists management is trying to reinvent its performance image with a new 'green' supercar based on the wild M1 Homage concept revealed earlier this year.

BMW is reportedly studying the viability of the project, with the ultimate goal to create a two-seater that showcases all of firm’s most sophisticated environmental technology, with a view to releasing it for a limited production run at the end of 2012.

It seems they are mulling building a supercar, but I can guarantee that it will be cancelled.

Now this would be something if BMW does it. Finally something that isn't a damn van, crossover, suv, progressively active nonsense.
