Huh?? Why is it irrelevant? After watching this video it is totally relevant since I am talking about idk which car I would chose.

I know this a 6 series forum but nevertheless it's a relevant question imo.

Either way, totally agree with @tristatez28lt1. The poll makes no sense at all....it's a bit like that 340i vs A4 2.0 thread the other day.

I am a bit disappointed you guys don't get it. Did you watch the video? The M6 GC and the 435d have similar performance figures. Very different than a 340i vs a A4 2.0. And in the world where gas prices are so high the question is relevant to ask which car would you go for. If you had driven both of them back to back maybe you would understand why I ask this question. :/

Sorry bro, I will watch the review later when off from work! But really, the performance figures are not that similar at all.
I have driven both, but not back to back. M6 is much, much faster. Particularly on roads like the Autobahn when you're already driving 100 km/h+...

I am not talking 100 km/h + . Clearly the M6 is faster. But 0-100 we tested the same. The M6 doesn't get the power down while the 435d does, and launches very quick;y. The 435d uses 8 liters average and the M6 around 18 liters. So the question is VERY valid. I am a previous M5 owner myself and my family always has had 535d's and the question is always is the extra power worth the fuel consumption.

Haha I knew now come the people who gonna say "unless you don't know what you're doing"... it always happens... I don't get paid for baking bread.

Both cars achieved 4.1 seconds to 100 km/h. Both did 3 runs, same surface, same temps etc. M6 with launch control and 435d with pre-load. The M6 needs a very sticky surface to play it's power advantage to 100.

With such power output for both cars, the zero to 100 km/h time is the least important performance figure.

Unless a difference of 0.1 sec is so noticeable, I'd prefer to compare the 80 - 160 km/h time.

Yup! Exactly. No difference down there. 80-160 km/h would be interesting. However I didn't know I will have to compare the 435d to the M6 GC, because I didn't expect the 435d to be that fast. So maybe next year. And then it would also be interesting to get a chip tuned 435d. Because that thing can easily be modified and once you put some active sound inside as well, there is no need for an M6. Unless you want to drift around all day, burn 20 l/100 km and get new tires ever 4 months (like I used to with the V10 haha).

Again, if money is not an issue, of course the M6 is better. But I am talking about value here

If you have fuel costs concerns and you don't mind a 4500 rpm redline, then the M6 obviously isn't for you. And vice versa, if you want/ have a car like the M6 GC, with a high revving, high output bi-turbo V8 and its price tag, then a 435d will feel like a taxi.

I agree that comparing a 435d to a M6 GC is like apples and oranges.

Haha nobody will agree lol. But seriously, you should try both cars and tell me again that these are apples and oranges.

Driving the M6 GC for two weeks cost me 1200 Euros, compared to 560 Euros in the 435d. Both around the same milage. And trust me, only because you own an M car doesn't mean you don't care about the fuel costs. My family used to have an airplane and I would fly to airports with the cheapest fuel prices to fill that thing up with 108 gallons.

I think I wouldn't be as happy with a 435d because I drift a lot and drive 300 km/h+ all the time, but for many M6 owners, a 435d would just be enough and a good alternative

Lol get this. I had a GT3 once for 1 1/2 days and spent 500 Euros for gas. Or 5 days Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 1200 Euros. That's the reality here...
