BMW hands out flyers to employees telling them to buy its cars

Whilst other welknown manufatures has done it before I don't think it's desparate at all. If you consider the compony as well as the brand you work for and build to be the best and putting in your best efforts to build it up to standards....it builds loyalty so...WHY NOT???:D

If I were to build a BMW I would be proud driving one..LOGIC!:t-cheers:

Sorry but there is zero logic to it. Just because you work for a company doesn't mean they should pressure you to buy their products. What products you use or buy outside work is your choice and business. Your employer has no right in telling instructing you how to spend your wage. Especially when working at an automotive factory isn't the most rewarding occupation on earth, and the job is taken to simply earn a living and provide for your family.

That's exactly right. Especially in this economy, if you are looking for a job you will normally take anything that you can get. It's unfair that carmakers pressure their employees into buying their products. I'm all for "employee pricing" and things like that but to come right out and say "You'd better buy our cars" is just desperate. :t-hands:

Geez, are you all retarded? :t-hands:

Nobody is making pressure on anyone ... it was just a marketing move. Geez.

This marketing action was targeting the loyalty to the company - and BMW employees are quite loyal & enthusiastic. And I'm sure many would like to buy a BMW if they have money - and I'm sure the company will offer some great deals to such employees as well.

Nobody is saying BMW is forcing factory workers & cleaning ladies to buy a BMW. :t-crazy2:

Some of you are sounding like BMW is forcing their employees to buy BMW products. Nobody is doing that. They are just targeting internal people as well - which is absolutely normal for every (big) company.

No, but you are given you reluctancy from using impolite words when BMW's facing criticism, despite that you've been asked not to do so countless times.

Only when criticism is based on false claims!

Some of you just made up the story BMW are FORCING employees to buy BMW products, and that such move was a very desperate move etc.

FYI BMW are making such internal marketing actions on regular basis. Nothing new here. Nothing to do with the crisis at all. And far from anyone being FORCED(???) to buy anything.

Geez.

Yeah yeah. Sure Motorauthority has exaggerated to an unhealthy extent but there's no need for unfriendliness to fellow other forum members:)

Because all reminds me of that stupid "BMW dropping their Ultimate driving machine slogan" story - which was completely false, but since one stupid media presented it as a truth everyone went bezirk, dissing BMW etc.

:t-banghea

LMFAO....OMG That is some funny sh*t! You deserve some good Karma for that!

There is something about that BMW sensitivity...

I think there were problems at Peugeot, because some employees drove non-Peugeot cars (like Renault) and were getting troubles because of that...
It's mandatory to have a Peugeot from what I know, to work at Peugeot (even a Citroën is not well-received). Same for Renault AFAIK.

Straight out of nowhere unverifiable statement.

Toyota Japan don't even reimburse fuel expense for doctors working part time in their factories (all doctors are externally sourced). Which mean they never pay anything because I have yet to see a Jap doctore driving anything else than a german car. It's ok there... it goes whith the banana empire behaviour of the place.

But in France... please... It would not survive 1 second in front of a judge...

Even if on a side note, with all the worker benefit when you buy a car from your company (at least for Renault who buy it back at a good price when you switch to resell it second hand as "vehicule de collaborateur" with better warranty and little higher price tag). It makes no economical sense NOT to buy from your company...
