Dr. Klaus Draeger, pruduction & purchasing chief, BMW AG told TCC that BMW Group planned to sell over 1.4 million automobiles this year, and 1.6 million automobiles by 2010. He also said predicting sales after 2010 would be a speculation.

:t-cheers:

We are talking about automobiles (cars & SUVs) only, motorcycles not included!

What did Audi say? 1.5 million vehicles by 2015? :D;)

Point is, both companies will be successful with continued prosperity and produce even more competitive products.

In April construction works on a new BMW china plant commences. New plant (also in joint-venture with Brilliance) will be able to produce 50,000 units (3er & 5er) annually. Current plant's production limit is 30,000 units /year.

So in the very near future BMW will be able to produce & sell over 80k units / year in Chinece market (80k China-made BMWs + ??k of imported models).

Also BMW CPO Arendt said recently MINI would be able to produce 300k units per year when necessary - despite Oxford plant production capability is "only" 240k / year after its expansion last year. Arendt said BMW would be able to increase MINI production within existing BMW facilities - due thier notorious ability of flexible production.

Also the Spartanburg plant was enlarged recently, and a plant in India is under construction.

Production increase, and an army of new models will help BMW to reach sales of 1.6 million units by 2010, and 1.8 million units by 2014 (1.5 million of BMWs, 300k of MINIs).

What was Audi saying again? 1.5 million units in 2015? :D;) j/k
