BMW connected drive and emails and text messages

Has anyone figured out how to get emails and text messages on either an iphone 4 or blackberry Torch. I just got my 650i and while I can get my calendar through BMW apps on my iphone 4, I cant get text messages or emails. Has anyone in the U.S. figured this out.

I have downloaded the iphone connected app. I have reviewed all the videos I can find on the net. I have looked at the BMW website for functionality. My question is there is a BMW youtube video showing a BB Torch and all messages. This was done through Bluetooth without and downloads. I have not seen where I can get messages from my iphone, but the Torch should work.
