BMW 6-series Gran Coupe Spotted

Introducing for the first time - the production BMW 6-series gran coupe spied during testing! The beautiful 6-series gran coupe is a sedan-coupe take on the F13 6-series coupe and features frameless windows. As earlier patent images revealed, the Gran Coupe shows the same front and rear bumpers as the existing 6-series models F12 and F13.

The 6-series Gran Coupe is quite a bit longer than the 6-series coupe and convertible. The Concept Gran Coupe unveiled back in 2010 has a length of over 5m (197 inches) while the 6-series coupe is 4.9m or 192.7 inches. These spy shots suggest a similar increase in size.

BMW apparently is so fond of the Gran Coupe idea that they're already looking into a Gran Coupe version based on the next 3-series. This car might be called the 4-series Gran Coupe, and according to sources, an M4 Gran Coupe is being considered as well.

Expect the 6-series gran coupe to hit showroom floors sometime in 2012.

Unlike its predecessor, which was strictly a coupe, this 6-series was designed with a 4-door model in mind.
Like the CLS, it looks to have a trunk, unlike the A7, Panamera, and Rapide, which are all hatchbacks..

I vote when I see the car revealed completely but if it looks exactly like the Coupe, then the decision is not difficult.. For the record, Panamera and CLS are no beautys.

It just doesn't look right now, but just like with the A/S5 Sportback and the Rapide this could change once it is seen more. The Rapide in particular turned out to be a stunner in person. WOW.

This wasn't a comparison poll. I just posted photos of the competition..I can already imagine what it will look like based on the the gran coupe concept and current 6-series...

To be honest, I don't really like any of the cars in this segment.... E-class > CLS
A6 > A7 imho

There's nothing that particularly excites me about this car. The nose looks all wrong, IMO. Random and fussy. Not a fan of Audi's huge grilles, but at least there's cohesion of design among the elements. Can't tell much about the back half, but I doubt it will challenge either the Merc or Audi for elegance.

(And aye, this is always a nice angle, no?)

It's just there. I wish BMW put some efforts in coming up with a different design. That is why the CLS is so special.


I'll go with Meh...not ugly, but no WOW factor at all. It is completely obvious how this thing will look.

Forgive me but I cannott help but laugh at some of the comments I'm reading. Do you guys not see the name of the car. It says 6SERIES Gran coupe therefore it will look exactly like the 6 series. Also dont forget that we saw this car before we saw the 6 series. My guess is the only reason why guys are thinking "Meh" is because you've seen the car before and yes you have seen the car before and you know exactly what it will look like. My only concern is that BMW is releasing it so long after the coupe cabriolet.

A good looking car is a good looking car forever. It doesn't matter whether anybody has seen it before. The 6 Series Coupe looked great in concept form when I saw it in Paris, but in production form it just looks dull. I predict the same for the GranCoupe.

I'm not here to challenge the forum members tastes. I'm suprised at the reactions of the members. I mean what were you expecting. The front of a 5er with the back of a 7er. it is a 6er at the end of the day. Wether you like it or not is entirely up to yourself.
