^Yeah but that is gonna change when the new engines arrive, the current lineup is actually old.

Same goes for MB's all new petrol ones, notice that the only one won first place is the new 250 CDI unit and the new petrol should deliver the same results:usa7uh:

The Audi A6 engine in this comparison is the new Supercharger engine.

The engine in 325d is a pretty old unit, there is the new I4 (23d) with 204 hp, its only available for the 1-series, at least for now.

Good to see the engine I have is very fuel efficient compare to the competition. Its one of the latest engines together with 730d from BMW in this test.

^From this test it appears that forced induction petrol engines drinks more than NA ones.

It seems like that the case. Very surprising as VAG has a very comprehensive lineup of engines. I though they would be more fuel efficient than the Merc engines.
:eusa_thin

its because of the quattro. Added weight and transmission losses.

Should have include VW and then compare classes.

Audi A4 1.8 TFSI = FWD
Audi A4 2.7Tdi = FWD

Audi A6 3.0q TFSI = AWD
Audi A8 3.0 Tdi = AWD
Audi Q7 3.0 Tdi = AWD

According to BMW webpage 335i use 9.1 L/100km, 335iX use 9.7 L/100km.
330i use 7.2 L/100km and 330Xi use 8.0 L/100km.
Yes, its true that a AWD car use more fuel, same case if you have automatic vs manual but it cant be a critical factor.
