458 [2009-2015] Autocar Test: Ferrari 458 Italia

The Ferrari 458 Italia (Type F142) is an Italian mid-engine sports car produced by Ferrari. The 458 is the successor of the F430, and was first officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was succeeded by the 488 GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta) in 2015.
Didn't know manual was not an option anymore - sad, but I guess a sign of times to come. :(

Yep...manual is on the out. Dual clutch is hear to stay. Better performance and economy. As much fun? Don't know, never driven a dual clutch.

That is an interesting location for the indicators.
Car does look a bit better in the video but still not as pretty as te F430.

I haven't either, but SMG is definitely not as fun as a manual, so I doubt DCT or any other transmission with out the third pedal will be. Funny thing is, I know I will most probably pick a DCT if I was buying a car today and it was available with DCT, but it is still good to know you have the option to pick a manual should you choose to. And it is this lack of option that saddens me.

I have. Most of the times I prefer manual but there are times when I prefer dual clutch.

I have never driven SMG either...so I can't say. The closest thing to these I drove was the R-Tronic in the R8, but I don't think that was a DSG.

The problem that I keep thinking about with these transmissions is the price to fix them, and if you have to Parallel park. Have u guys tried parallel parking one of those cars?
