You thinks so? Don't you think it's just a case of the 3-Series being smaller and lighter?

Luw I'm referring to the specification of all the test vehicles that have been provided to the press as evidenced both in this thread and the official review thread, not how it compares to the 5.

That said I do love the looks of the 3 and look forward to seeing it and driving it next March. I just think that providing cars with all the expensive chassis options is not really representative of the range and what 50-80% of drivers will experience.

P.s. Before I get accused of being a BMW hater, I just bought another 125i coupe. :D

If the ride is the same and I didn't have to pay for either, then I'd pick the 5er. If money was put into the equation, it'll be a little different since the 3er seems to hold its own against its older sibling.

The 5er looks WAY more refined and elegant while being athletic innately, a winning combo. Interior is almost in the 7er range, don't know how the insides are even comparable.

If size and prestige isn't a concern, obviously one would go for the 3, because size and prestige is the only reason you would wana pay extra to get a 5 right?

I think BMW did a good job in differentiating between the 3 and the 5... the character is extremely different, one is almost sports car looking while the other is even more elegant than the 7series. Interior too.

I see a third more people prefer the 5 over the 3, I wonder is it an image thing which the 5 having more kudos with fellow motorists?

Autocar said Sportline won't be an option in UK. Instead you get it with M-package (adaptive chassi included).

I know, got a reply back from BMW UK saying as much. Basically they see the Sportline as the minor performance offering in the UK and as such will only offered upto the 2.0i or 2.0d, above this it will be M/Sport which won't be available until the 3rd quarter of 2012.

I still can't get over the E46 sedan, which would be the perfect car for me.

Yet, laws of physics (especially the ones about inertia) make me lean towards the 3er. Yet, I like the design, both inside out, of the 5er more.

So, can't deside :D

We could have the same poll again in a year and the result might be different. People are very shallow so after seeing the car several times in real life, they might feel more for 3.

3er looks more agressive, just like a shark preparing for the attack that`s his front end. The 5er looks more luxurious and aristocratic. + 3r: for me, the hole driving experience, he`s faster, he takes corners better, etc. The 5er has better interior materials, better interior design the best from Bmw. 5er has more space, it`s more comfortable, more luxurious. So, because I am a Merc fan i choose luxury, so I voted for 5er.

Well IMO the F10 has a better overall balanced design than the F30 and that's why i voted for it.:)
