Vergleich Nissan GT-R/Porsche 911 Turbo/Audi R8 V10 - Die Runde der Wahrheit - Sportscars - autobild.de

Summary from here:

1st (249 of 300 Points) GT-R: best driving dynamics, unbeatable price, odd looks, fastest on the track, best brakes, uninspiring engine note,

best gearbox, suspesion setup too harsh, most usable.

2nd (236 of 300): 911 Turbo: most demanding an thus most rewarding drive, 2nd fastest on track, good compromise between track and road, good quality,

3rd (232 of 300) R8 V10: most comfortable, "best looking", most exotic, slowest on track, worst gearbox.

Tracktimes (Contidrome Handling Track)

1. GT-R : 1:30.95

2. Turbo: 1:31.75

3. R8 V10: 1:32.11

So another excellent result by GTR and another disappointing one for R8 V10, which sucks cause I was really rooting for it when I heard about the 8700 rpm V10. I really thought it would would beat the GTR.

The hopes must have been set too high for the R8 V10. Not a strange thing, though, the V8 version was a blast when it appeared.

I didn't think this for one nanosecond.

HaHa,It's the first time in my memory that a japanese sportcar beaten its germany rivals in a german automobile magazine.

No one in their right mind could think that the GT-R would not win this. I'm very surprized that it did not win by more, I mean, it is supposed to go in circles around the 997 Turbo.

Expected result,the R8 V10 is a huge disappointment but still my choice here...i just love it's looks:D

Hats off to Gt-R! I'm disappointed by R8's V10 figures, V8 is better by miles! 911-Turbo is matchless since day one! :usa7uh:

I still don't get why the R8 V10 turned out to be dud. Quite a lot of the reviews of the V8 version raved about how good the chassis is and and how it could easily handle more power. And the V10 engine itself is a gem (at least on paper). But some how the whole car turned out to be less than the sum of it's parts. :t-banghea

Remember the novelty of the R8. That is a factor to be taken in account. It was by far the best drivers Audi ever. The V10 adds nothing but the easiest part - power. Hence, the wow-effect is simply not there.

The R8 is more of a delicate car. It's more eye candy and daily driver fun than track attack machine.

Kudos to GT-R for putting up a great fight.

:t-cheers:

And yet, given the choice, it's the Audi R8 V10 (in a manual) that I'd choose. It's a very difficult choice, granted.

I wouldn't say the R8 is a dud... this is the 911 Turbo and GTR! Really impressive strides Audi has been taking lately. They're all fantastic cars and I'd be happy with any of them.

And the GTR doesn't "run circles" around the 911 Turbo. But generally yes it'll likely perform better all around whereas the GT3 and GT2 will give it a run for it's money.
