We’ve long been fans of Petrolicious, as their videos are beautifully shot and highlight some of the most interesting cars of all time. Their most recent film features an Audi UrQuattro owned by Manuel Leon Minassian, who fell hard for the UrQuattro with its boxed flares and rally pedigree during his time at boarding school in Beirut, Lebanon. Being in his teens during the mid 1980s, he was a fan of Group B rally racing and legendary driver Walter Röhrl, whose success pushed Manuel towards the Audi brand. As a boarding school student, he would see expensive cars on a fairly regular basis, but nothing captivated him quite like the UrQuattro.

Manuel’s car was originally was sold by legendary Porsche Dealer Vasek Polak, and has spent it’s entire life in Southern California. As such, Manuel pursued the car for many years before finally getting the opportunity finally came four years ago to purchase it. He has mostly kept the 174,000 mile car stock during his ownership, aside from a few upgrades which were carefully selected to keep the original aesthetic.

This feature marks Petrolicious’ second trip to Manuel’s garage, previously featuring his highly customized Alfa Romeo Berlina. That video can be found right here.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
