Good vehicle but now beaten by its competitors especially the X5/7 severely. The only place it probably shines is price. Slightly more affordable than the competition and my local dealer gives good discounts compared to MB and BMW.

Agree, while this latest FL is nicer than the previous which seems a bit lazy - even though this one clearly changed less but did it better - it is disappointing that the interior remains the same, just like with the Q8. The Q5 would be the optimal size, but its even more neglected.

I like the Q5s… I have 2 now and have run one before.. great cars for the money and best in segment.

Audi is preparing a brand new Q5 (last ice car).

This Q7/8 will be the last ice gen for this size. They will be replaced by electric versions for the next gen. My guess is that the next gen is not quite ready and thanks to Belgium, automakers don’t have a good sense of what the future holds in terms of legislation. Hence they are stuck on some kind of limbo.

As discussed elsewhere EVs are not for everyone and even as govts try to push them onto consumers, people are pushing back in certain geographies making this transition very difficult. Add to that the R&D and tooling time for a new model, manufactures have little to no choice but to make minor changes in order to make the older product more attractive to consumers

After the bloated GLS and fugly X7 this one actually looks really good, way better than both previous experiments Audi took on this gen.

One thing, why they still use that Grille pattern in 2024? No matter If it’s Audi, BMW or Benz, it’s just scaled, looks so dated and awful nowadays.

Like the LCI X7 the updates seem to hint at ideas that will similarly reinterpreted on the next generation. With industry insiders saying the Q9 will be the new Q7 and the X7 will be visually related even more to the ideas used on the i7.

XC90 is handsome but has been replaced by an insanely expensive EV variant.
I am amazed about the EX90 and its leap in Quality. There was that ikea feel to it’s interior but now it’s more Bo Concept minimalism. Even though it’s not Swedish.

Of course I mean for German trio standards.
The XC90 is the best before going all for the new Range Rover, despite its age IMO.

The EX90 is gorgeus too and the tech looks promising, they will coexist for some time with the XC90.

No, I'm not just any Chinese brand or model

I like this new FL, the changes to the front lights and bumper intakes look fantastic. I think this Q7 FL2 is more successful than the fugly X7 LCI and the lackluster GLS FL. The interior of the Q7 also looks better than both the GLS and X7.

Finally looks decent again. I absolutely despise the '20-24 FL1 model and always thought it looked atrocious. This facelift brings some butch looks to it finally, of course the original '16-19 was the best looking.

Hopefully be on sale for ~2 years only so we can get a brand new next-gen Q7 by.. 2026?

The proposition as a "larger than X5 and extra row" and "cheaper than X7" makes sense in theory, but with such an outdated product, the Q7 is vastly outsold by the X5 3:1 in the US and matches the X7 in sales.

There's potential for more, but Audi doesn't care enough about the US market to prioritize a model better suited for this market (at least, this is my opinion).

All i will say is that Audi SUVs especially the Q5/7 are very solidly built unlike their car offerings (A6/7 etc)… but i get your point. VAG is very electric propulsion focused while BMW AG is still investing in ICE tech.

Separately, i did not like the way the new X5 drives.. i have driven the pre facelift X540 and X6 M50i. I had the previous gen F15 and realized later that it was based on the E60 platform and not the F10. Incidentally i did not like the way the G30 drove as well. The E60 was one of my fav driving big saloons. In that same vein, i love my SQ5s… somehow they remind me of the 2000s era of BMWs.

Make what you will of that info.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
