Audi Hits All-Time Record in Australia

Audi has reached an all-time sales record in Australia, following its August 2006 result.
Closing the month yesterday with 479 vehicle sales, Audi is now 12 percent, or 375 units ahead of its August 2005 year-to-date result.

With a cumulative total of 3,573 units so far achieved, the company is confident of ending 2006 with another year of double digit growth, and another record result, according to managing director, Joerg Hofmann.

“With the new Audi Q7 soon to hit the showroom throughout the Audi Dealer Network, we are looking forward to the final four months of the year recording very strong sales,” Hofmann said.

“Thanks also to our new TDI range of vehicles, and aspirational cars like the new TT on the way, the Audi brand will continue to strengthen in this market.”

Fourtitude

I have seen a lot of new Audis in Sydney, but only new A4s. There are hardly any A6s. I have seen about 4 A8 since it was launched a few years ago. The Q7 seems to be selling well. I have seen 3 of them last month, a few weeks before it was offically launched.

Yeah, it's like the A4 car company. I bet they're itching to get their hands on the new one, sooner rather than later.

The A6 is a nice car, but obviously people aren't buying them. The A8 is the outsider to the conservative favourites, the S and the 7er. The Q7 hit at just the wrong time - sure, people who buy $80k cars don't worry that much about fuel prices, but there's always public perception of them.

At least the TT should be a good addition, though.
