Still finding it hard getting over the fact you’ve missed out on your chance to own the stunning DBS coupe? One of our favourite tuners, Mansory, may have the next best thing. The German outfit’s latest package for the DB9 coupe and droptop Volante looks every bit as gorgeous as the DBS but it won’t burn as big a hole in your pocket as the aforementioned super-coupe, plus it’s available today. That is, for anyone who already owns the keys to a DB9.

Designers at Mansory were faced with an almost impossible challenge in improving the look of the already near-perfect DB9, but somehow they’ve managed to come away with something that looks sportier and just as elegant. To improve the car, designers added a new front spoiler with daytime running lights, integrated fog lights and a matching lower grille insert. Side skirts highlighted with carbon-lined rear intakes also make the cut as does a new rear diffuser make completely of carbon. This is offset with chrome exhaust tips, aluminum trim, and matching carbon taillight covers.

Performance has been upgraded as well, with the addition of new Brembo brake package consisting of 405mm discs and six-piston callipers up front and four-piston callipers in the rear. These sit within a new set of lightweight, fully forged, aluminum wheels measuring 20in in diameter. New anodized aluminum air intakes on the bonnet and a suspension lowering kit with sport performance springs complete the look of the vehicle.
The interior is dressed up with a mixture of maple wood, carbon-fiber and Alcantara, and customers can also opt for a new set of aluminum pedals.

Wow ...doesn't that maple wood look unique.

I really like it.

My only complaint is the upholstery is not absolutely exquisitely made.

When I compare it to the leather upholstery made by the Italian furniture maker Poltrona Frau (their work for Bugatti Veyron, VW Phaeton, Ferrari, and Maserati), it just doesn't match up.

Indeed it looks great, Rob. I fully agree. This is one of the rare case where Mansory didn't do too much.

Mansory package for Aston DB9 is all show, no extra go

When Mansory hit us with its modified AM V8 Vantage, we bemoaned the lack of any serious performance upgrades. Unfortunately, although it's more visually pleasing than its stab at the Vanquish, Mansory's take on the DB9 adopts the same meatless approach.
The only real performance upgrade is in the rolling stock: 20-inch forged alloys hide 405mm discs clamped by six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers around back, hooked up to a lowered suspension. Wheels, brakes and suspension ain't nothin', but otherwise it's all poseur. There's a new front end with integrated lighting, side skirts and a carbon fiber rear diffuser with chrome exhaust tips. Inside Mansory has decked the interior out in maple, carbon fiber, Alcantara and available aluminum pedals.
The package is available for both the DB9 coupe as well as the DB9 Volante, so if you can't wait for the DBS roadster and aren't that interested in the increased performance anyway, your new clubbing accessory has arrived.
