Smartphones Android Flagship Phones 2014

Smartphones, mobile tech, apps, accessories, Android, iPhone, and mobile trends.
I just bought myself the Samsung Galaxy S4 today, replacing my 2-year old Blackberry style phone that is about to die.
I might get the S5 (when the electrical bugs are worked out) or the Note 3 later down the line.
Nice phone and easy to set up. I also bought an Otterbox case, screen protector, and 16gb memory-card.
Case definitely looks more bulky in photos than in real life.

I've decided to wait with a new phone. Until next summer I expect some good phones. Today I think I'll get Sony Xperia Z3 for the next summer but I hope there will be a mini version of it since all phones are getting bigger and I don't like it.

I've been experiencing sim card problems with my galaxy s4 and sent it to shop for a repair but I'll wait for new iphone.

This is my second galaxy phone and I'm not sure I would buy a new one ..

I like my Galaxy S4 a lot. It is a snap to use, fast and smooth even with 8-pages of apps, dozens of photos and videos. (Absolutly 0-problems with speed and overall performance.)
My only small gripe is the battery life. It doesn`t seem to last all day long like my former Black-Berry. The Battery Doctor app on google-play is quite useful in shutting down apps that run in the backround, extending battery life. Apps and screen brightness seem to be the main reason for battery drainage in any
smart phone.
95% of us will be using these phones in some sort of light source (in or outdoors). Why not engineer a phone that could take advantage of these light sources with temparary solar-energy through the camera lens. In weaker light sources the camera could digitally amplify the light sources, putting the battery on "sail" or temporally shutting it off without notice (like stop-start for example). This could greatly extend battery life throughout the day and you could brighten your screen to it`s highest setting in direct sunlight or other light sources without it affecting the battery. Just my 2-cents...

Because the quickest way to improve battery life is to simply plug it in at some point in the day. .... or spend the money to buy a second battery. Being able to swap out batteries is a key selling point of the Samsung.

Sure, it`s more $$ in their pocket, points taken about the extra batteries but at some point that will be an inconvenience (depending your charge cycle and the fact that some of us have phones cases that must be taken out before the battery is removed.) You simply will not have the time in those critical (Oh Sh!t!!!)
random life moments like shooting a video or taking photos when you need more power at that moment after you have made or taken extra phone calls during a busy day. Life does not have a pause botton. Samsung will probably include that with the next Galaxy so we can change the battery.

My next phone. Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Blue color for me though.

An update on my HTC One M8.

I have had it for nearly 3 years now, and it has not let me down. I haven't had one single issue with the phone, it has never crashed or even restarted itself. The phone still runs smooth and fast and the battery is till in perfect condition.

I am very impressed with it, however the HTC phone division has really gone down hill since the M8 and I will be going somewhere else for my next phone.

OnePlus seems to be quite a competitive company for the prices they are charging.

The OnePlus 5 seems to have most of the new stuff the big players will do for 60% of their price.
