TL;DW: they improve front downforce, but have negative effect on rear diffusers when placed in direct airflow that would otherwise hit said diffusers.
Maybe those mega long F80 diffusers are not actually that powerful, with how the massive array of turning vanes ahead gobbles up all the clean airflow.
