Thats because of a FWD based AWD that will get you out of more jams than simply RWD with DSC....The truth is nothing can be everything to everybody.

What is DULL for an experienced driver is SAFE for all the Joe Doe out there. Since 90% of the drivers are average or below that means that A6 is the best car for the real world.
Furthermore i see dousins of 5 series everyday and most of the drivers are ready to fall asleep on the steering wheel i don't see much excitement in the way they drive.

It's a pity same can't be said for Audi (quattro vs. FWD) ...

So basis non-AWD BMWs are better than basis non-AWD Audis.

Btw, did you know that still a majority of Audis sold in Europe are FWD, not quattro.
