The Audi A5 is a series of compact executive and grand touring coupé cars produced by Audi. Production: 2007-
Sure Just_Me:usa7uh: I guess this is where me and you differ, My personal taste in cars don't have much to do with my parents ya know!? My parents didn't have the means to own such expensive cars so my opinion is just that. But even if they did I'm just the kinda guy that does my own thing so you don't have to bother getting into it with me over every word ok? Thanks for explaining where your coming from Just_Me:eusa_clap. Me and you will never have to battle for now on, I know the history of your BMW passion!:)

My parents has nothing to do which cars Im intrested to. My intrests go way back. Since I was a little kid, I've been intrested in cars and thats was the time when my parents owned Volvo's and Mazdas. Im 30 years old now and first time they owned a BMW I was like 20-22 years old and I was intrested in BMW long before that. So my intrests in bmw has nothing to do with my parents choice. I do my own thing too so your post above is totally wrong. We are no different after all.

Yes

So everyone that says that A5 is a disappointment better wait to see what happens when the two cars are tested as "packages" and not just cause 3 series can oversteer (cause that's the definition of driving performance according to most journalists).:D

Really? Sales are more important than what some journalists say. I find it weak if someone cant make their own choice.

totally agree, i will still take a5 over 3er coupe even if all the journalists say it's dull as hell to drive.

It might be "dull to drive" for a hardcore journalist but may still be the best car for someone that wants a safe, well build, luxurious , practical and beautiful car that can take him from point A to B fast enough and with minimal effort.

Not everyone drives like a rally driver you know.:D

no my parents dont drive like rally drivers but still they buy bimmers but without big engines. Why you might ask? because they want to go to a - b without a hurry.

The E92 gives you all that PLUS class-leading ride and handling.

As i've said, dynamics is very important for a sports car such as the A5/S5, maybe not as important for a luxury car like the A8, but in this segment, drivinf dynamics is the key.

Some key quotes:

"This feels a big, bulky car"

"The improvement is not immediately obvious"

"The steering is indeed more accurate... but it still feels aloof from the road"

"the A5 is disappointingly inert here"

"There's no joy in hustling it through bends"

And finally why the A5/S5 is this way:

"Why the dull dynamics? And why waste all that effort in developing the new platform? Audi's chief chassis engineer agrees with our assessment and would like things to be different, but Audi's marketing department insisted that the A5 must feel familiar to existing Audi owners"

There is a lot of middle ground between driving like a rally driver and a dull, boring drive.

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
