300SEL 6.3

Hey guys, I hate posting new threads so often but I searched and could not find info about this either here or the internet and would like some help from the experts.

A couple of days ago I was kind of lost after an exam I did to apply for a university and somehow ended in a street where I saw an old 300SEL 6.3. The car is complete but seriously neglected. I've been searching on the Internet and all I find is the price for a perfectly restored one, which seems to be around 35k-50k USD. Do you guys have an idea of how much a car like this is worth in this condition? I'm considering buying it but have other projects in mind. I am aware of how much time and money it would take to bring it back to its former glory (just the air suspension scares me a little), but living in Mexico, this is a chance I can't let go. I don't think there are much W109s here let alone a 6.3. Besides, it breaks my heart to see it siting like that with its windows open to the rain. I wouldn't be surprised if parts get stolen or just destroyed for fun Any help will be seriously appreciated guys. Thanks again, now some pics

A couple of hours ago, me and a friend of mine went to check it out again. We asked around and the car is owned by someone living there, but it's been sitting like that for a long time. It was even towed once. We looked at the interior, it's complete, the leather and wood are original. Everything needs to be re upholstered and the wood needs reconditioning, but it seems like the only missing original parts are the star on the hood which as always got stolen and the original Becker stereo.
We left a note asking about the car on the owners house and inside the car as well (window was open, we left it on the rear shelf). I'll tell you more when I hear more myself

EDIT: The car has a sunroof, which I think is a rare option as far as I know. We took no pictures, we forgot about it because we were more concerned about finding who the owner was

Months old thread but I remembered about this after reading an article (http://jalopnik.com/5472253/peter-maxs-36-vintage-corvettes-the-full-story) and realized I never updated this again.

So just to let you know guys: I never heard from the owner. I left a note in the car and in his house. I don't know if the car is still there but it would be a shame.
I wasn't informed if it was or wasn't for sale.
