  • The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 drops the twin-turbo V-8 engine in favor of the hybrid setup from the C63 sedan.
  • The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and electric motor join forces to produce a massive 671 horsepower and 752 pound-feet of torque.
  • The GLC63 is also a plug-in hybrid, with a 6.1-kWh battery that can send power to all four wheels.

  • The new generation of the Mercedes GLC compact luxury SUV now has an AMG GLC43 version.
  • It has a 416-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to replace the old model's V-6.

It's about time.

It looks great, but I don't think owners of the previous gen GLC63 will need to feel like they absolutely have to upgrade. This new GLC63 will be an entirely different experience with the increased weight and hybrid powertrain.

You were very much against Mercedes dropping the V8 for the 4 cylinder, said it would never sell in he US, what made you change your mind?

I didn't change my mind, I just reported the news. None of that is my thoughts. Just news.

I'm very much against this. It's a terrible move, especially with this hybrid nonsense. Now the "43" versions work better, less complication, but even they don't perform as well as the previous V6, but as a mid level car sure, fine. They could have at least offered a new AMG version of the I6 in the C and GLC.

I guess I misinterpreted your 'its about time' comment.

Being the same powertrain as the C63, which is extra-heavy, I would like to know how much it weighs in SUV format...

Oh dear another AMG ruined.

When will this madness end.

The fact they still call its a 63” deeply offends me.

It's not like they were going to give the GLC a different powertrain than the C. The madness ends with this generation, AMG is all EV after this unfortunate hybrid slate of cars.

And no videos even released by MB. Very low key at best.

M
The fact they even launched the 43 and 63 together shows they don't care.. All other product launches are usually 43/53 first and then a major reveal for the 63.

I think too because they simply have too many models coming and it’s easier/less expensive to push them all out the door at once.

I doubt very much that is going to end well either, it is not not like AMG has any expertise at making EVs.
