If you don't get the point of that (highly political) debate (which is the case, obviously), just don't say anything. Or bring it up in a separate thread so that it can be ignored more easily ...
If at all, #bumgate is a thing between two fellow members who are known for having strong opinions. Imo, both members like to provoke to a certain extent, sometimes ... which is mostly fine as it enriches and variegates the forum. In this particular case, a mark might have been overshot (I also thought about reacting to the stumbling post ... and yes, it's been sexist. No matter if intentional or not, no matter what the 'victim' thinks about it ...) but I guess it makes most sense to not inflate this and take it as a joke missing the target. Mostly because a forum like this is not the place to resolve such a potentially complicated topic, anyway.
Let's not forget that most of us had bad moments in here, played brown notes, and got into fights .... If I ask others to be clement with me, I need to be clement with others.

It's attitudes like this which is why "Mee too" exists, and why the misogynistic comment that @klier posted can go for five months without a single reaction from anybody who saw it.
@klier could have come back and said "yeah, it was said in the heat of the moment, but in the cold light of day it was out of order". Yet despite having time to reflect, he still stands by the comment, and then attacks me for calling him out on it! This kind of misogyny has no place in 2018 any more than racism or homophobia.
And the people who have rated "winner" on Klier and Scott's posts are just as culpable. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Let's talk about the latest Star Wars film "Solo" Star Wars is a much loved and admired, he'll let's say it worshipped religiously IP.
Star Wars is box office teflon. It should not fail.
Why did Solo fail? Why has Star Wars failed? Because of identity politics.
Have you read the scenario behind this? Its box office tracking was pushing for a high summer return.
Then this happened. Who is stupid enough to send a tweet like this on your opening day.
This was one of the writers. People stayed away because they do like being politically pandered too. Politics should not be enthused in popular culture. People do not like being preached too by people that have an agenda.
Do you honestly think Charlie's Angels reboot is going to be anything but a bomb because of it's boasting of wall to wall identity and agenda politics?
Let's talk about the new Fantastic Beasts film. Again a worshipped religiously IP. It's crashing again due to identity politics being discussed by JK Rowling the creator.
Now where does MeToo come into this. Thankfully I was glad that this movement did start because I have people close to me that have been in similar scenarios.

MeToo is no longer about action to highlight discrimination and harassment. It is now a Political Weapon. And it is being used at any opportunity. This is why I dismissed it as a joke.
The admiration and respect that people have for the founders of MeToo and other organisations is evaporating because celebrity has made victimisation lucrative and people are pushing political agendas.
Look at the Women's March leaders and the constant anti-Semitic blame game. As a Jew myself these people should not have a platform.
People who have politics constantly shoved down their throats are automatically turned off.
At a market symposium earlier this year where we discussed marketing in the MeToo and Trump era. One well known sports car manufacturer representitive made their point clear. SJWs do not buy our cars on why they do not pander. In this age of marketing for this era of identity politics even though some do pander, they are concerned about alienating others. There is no common ground.

Ah, now I remember why I left GCF many years ago. I came here to get the latest info on upcoming cars, have insightful discussions (about cars!) with fellow members,read different opinions and personal reviews(about cars!) and look at great photo compilations, spy-shots and videos gathered from all over the web. If you care more about what one member says than the actual cars, then you doing it wrong! Either take your rants off GCF or have a seperate thread where you guys can insult each other all day. Now, back to the X6 please.
