According to Autobild, CTS-V is about 6 seconds faster than Panamera from 0-280 km/h. The outcome in the video seems to be true.
 
Well that sucks.
I was banking on the Porsche Panamera slamming that CTS-V on this showdown. Clearly not the case.
 
There is a good 100 PS difference and I think Panamera weighs more too. So, the result is obvious. Also take into account the higher drivetrain loss of AWD Panamera compared to RWD CTS-V. The real CTS-V rival is Panamera Turbo S.
 
RS7 Performance (605 PS) is 4 seconds faster than CTS-V to 280 km/h. So, E63 S and F90 M5 should beat it without problem.

The E63 S is even faster than the 605ps RS7.

When it debuts, I am not going to be surprised if the new M5 takes the lead on speed tests. It is going to be one fast mf!
 
Well FWIW, in this video, the F10 M5 itself beats CTS V pretty convincingly.

When it debuts, I am not going to be surprised if the new M5 takes the lead on speed tests. It is going to be one fast mf!
This I agree with the M5 looks set to be both faster in a straight line and track , although a track battle between the Panamera Turbo S will be interesting.

I really think the F10 M5 will be pretty even with the F90 when it comes to in gear acceleration. From a standing start the E63 and M5 will obliterate the CTS-V or F10 , but from a roll I'm not so convinced. RWD cars tend to have good in fear acceleration over AWD with similar power.

RS7 is both AWD and heavier than the RWD CTS-V but beats it in rolling acceleration.

The fact is that US cars are not as fast as their powers suggest. They need at least 100 PS more to beat a German car!

CTS-V is very light too. At 1883 kg, I think it is the lightest super sedan among it's rivals.

There is no way this m5 was stock. The current m5 is not faster than the V. Even if it was, the difference would not be so huge.
I've checked the bmw (bimmerpost) forum to see their reaction to this video, and even they were surprised, because most of them did some races against the Vs and the results were different compared to this bs.
 
^Ok, my bad. I just posted the video that was below the Panny video. Don't know and don't care which is faster or which is stock.
 
The Panamera Turbo is probably quicker than the CTS-V in a standing start up to 160kmh but above that the Cadillac will overtake and pull ahead but that is to be expected as it has nearly 100 PS more power and 80nm higher torque also. The E63 S and new M5 will probably give the CTS-V a hiding in any drag race.
 
The panamera is not a 1 trick pony. Put both of them on the track and watch the Porsche killing anything with 4 doors.
