Hello! I recently encountered an issue with my 2017 E400 4Matic coupe, and I'd like to see if anyone else has either experienced the same issue or know of anyone that has. First of all, please know I truly love my E400 coupe. It has been my favorite car I have ever owned, until I experienced sudden acceleration pulling in to a parking space and the car jumped the curb and went down the side of a building. At first the brakes did not override the acceleration, thus why I went a good distance down the side of the building before going back down into the parking lot thru some shubbery and stopping.
Mercedes North America spent approximately six weeks conducting some type of "diagnosis" and finally sent me a letter saying they investigated and couldn't find anything wrong with the car. They did not explain what investigation they did that determined there was no issue with the car, either the sudden acceleration or the brake override failure, but now my insurance is stuck footing nearly a $16,000 repair bill.
I don't feel comfortable driving this car again, but I am seriously considering buying a new E400 coupe, because it is the only new car that I find attractive (other than the S coupe, which is significantly more than I want to spend). Any suggestions?
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Appreciate your feedback.
