Furious 8 / Vin Diesel

To be released April 14, 2017
Vin Diesel has released a Furious 8-related image on his official Instagram account.

A couple of months ago we heard Vin Diesel at Jimmy Kimmel Live show on ABC dropping a hint about New York as the location for the next iteration in the Fast and Furious franchise. Now, the actor published an image depicting NY and the Fast & Furious 8 logo. At this point we don't know whether this is an official logo or simply fan art which the actor decided to share.

Scheduled to hit movie theaters worldwide on April 14, 2017, Furious 8 will see the return of the gang, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who recently confirmed he will be back in the eighth movie alongside Kurt Russell who will play a more important role compared to Furious 7. Justin Lin will likely be in charge of directing the movie which will probably introduce additional new characters to spice things up.

It's unlikely this will be the latest movie as back in November last year Universal's chairman Donna Langley said they are considering three more movies after FF7. This shouldn't come as a surprise since Furious 7 has grossed so far approximately $1.5 billion, just 53 days after its release.

In my opinion they raised 1.5 billion because of Paul Walker's death. Yes, it sounds horrible but I thinks it's truth. And I also think they have to stop doing F&F, the spirit of the first ones is gone a long time ago.
Sorry for all fans, but it's just my opinion.

Vin Diesel shares Fast 8 poster on Facebook, 1970 Dodge Charger R/T featured

For the eighth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, Dom is back and so is the awe-inspiring Dodge Charger. It’s not the Charger you’re thinking about, though.

The signature car of Dominic Toretto has always been the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, the car totaled by a train in the first movie. In Furious 7, Dom drives a different Charger, a car so heavily modified you can barely call it a Charger. Thankfully, though, the car Dom will be driving in Fast 8 appears to be a stock affair.

There’s no honking great Roots-style supercharger towering above the hood, nor does it have off-road credentials like the Charger from Furious 7. Only the wheels appear to be aftermarket. Otherwise, it is stock.

What else can we learn from this poster for Fast 8? Well, we’re told to expect “new roads ahead.” I hope I’m not reading too much into this, but you know how Furious 7 ends. I won’t spoil the movie for those who didn’t see it, albeit the truth of the matter is that the death of Paul Walker changes the course of the franchise. The absence of Paul Walker from the poster is another tell-tale sign of what we should expect.

What else do we know about the eighth movie other than the fact it’s due on April 14, 2017? For starters, there will be plenty of cool actors in it. Charlize Theron will be the baddie, Clint Eastwood’s son will play the protege of Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell), and the list goes on and on and on. A previous poster shared by Vin Diesel features New York City’s skyline. In other words, the Big Apple will be central to the movie.

In related news, Vin Diesel is working on the third film in the xXx franchise. The action-packed movie is slated to be released on January 19, 2017, in Germany and January 20, 2017, in the United States.

P.S.: Facebook head honcho Mark Zuckerberg likes Vin Diesel’s post. How cool is that?

So these guys has gone from illegal street racers, thieves, smugglers to elite international crime fighting special force. What more can possibly happen?

Watched the movie last night, it felt like every young boy's fantasy movie. It was a fun, easy movie to watch.

While I'm yet to see it, am I the only one who feels as though they've overdone it, with all those tanks, jet fighters, nuclear subs and etc? Back then, it was all about racing some modified cars on the streets

They might have gone a little bit too far, yes... but I think that happened at "EJECTO SEATO CUZ!", and has gotten progressively worse since.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed F8, but at this stage if they started an arc of standalone films in the ilk of Tokyo Drift (but better) I'd probably prefer those.

I suppose, but I think of this movie as a huge scale hot wheel set.
