Forester 2015 Subaru Forester STi tS

The Subaru Forester is a compact crossover SUV that has been manufactured by Subaru since 1997. The first generation was built on the platform of the Impreza in the style of a taller station wagon, a style that continued to the second generation, while the third-generation model onwards moved towards a crossover SUV design. A performance model was available for the second-generation Forester in Japan as the Forester STi.

Will resemble the Forester STI tS concept
Subaru has released several teaser images depicting the 2015 Forester STi which will premiere on November 25.

At the beginning of last month at Suzuka track during the Japan Motorsport Festival we saw Subaru's Forester STi tS conceptand now it appears a virtually identical production version will be offered. For the moment it's not known whether this is a Japan-only model or Subaru will decide to commercialize the hot Forester in international markets.

What we do know is that it will feature a beefier body kit complemented by enlarged STi-branded brakes, bigger wheels, front spoiler lip, red accents both inside and out, Galaxy Blue Pearl body paint and sportier suspension setup.

Expect the enhanced looks to be matched by a more powerful engine but its identity is not known at this point. It's unlikely it will be the 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer engine from the WRX STi where it develops 305 bhp (227 kW) and 393 Nm (290 lb-ft) as the output will probably be a bit less in the spiced up Forester.

The 2015 Subaru Forester STi will be unveiled on November 25.

I like these Wolf in Sheep clothing cars, this one has potential for sure to surprise some Hot Hatches!! The 2nd generation XT was a bombshell, remember at the time that thing did about 7sec from 0-100km/h, it was faster than the Golf GTi!!!

Ja, I remember a test where L'at Wiel drag raced a gen 2 Forester XT against a Golf GTI at Gerotek. I remember it very well...

Well it is official now.

The important bits

The tS wears 19-inch forged alloy wheels by BBS wrapped in Turanza tyres, which sit in front of 17-inch Brembo brakes with STI logos. The STI tuning extends to the suspension, which is 15mm lower than the regular Forester, and the special edition SUV’s flexible tower bar, draw stiffener and support subframe.

The engine and transmission control units have also been exclusively tuned for the tS.

The front styling looks really bland, they should have made the front bumper look more aggressive with nice large air intake openings. Just flat black plastic surrounding the number plate and cheese grater grill could have made more different. I do like the back styling though, it has that classic Forester look from behind.
