With small updates, the current generation Opel Corsa has been around since 2006, which is quite a long production cycle nowadays. However, Opel and Vauxhall are finally closing in on the launch of a replacement model, which will debut at theParis Auto Show this autumn.
Opel has released the first footage of what it calls the “New Corsa” wearing a camouflage that lets us distinguish a similar silhouette to the one of the current model.

This obviously begs the question whether we’re dealing with an all-new model or a comprehensive facelift. Opel is not very clear about that, but if it’s indeed a new generation model, the automaker has definitely adopted a conservative approach.

What we can tell from watching the video is that the Corsa features new headlights and taillights and a more prominent front end that bring it in line with Opel’s newer models.

According to chassis development manager Michael Harder quoted by Autocar, everything inside the cabin, ahead of the A-pillar and downwards of the suspension turrets and outwards from the steering wheel is new – body panels included. The basic cabin architecture and packaging are the only elements carried over from the current model.

2015 Opel Corsa rendering / RM Design

Debuting in Paris this year
Photoshop artist Remco Meulendijk from RM Design has released new renderings, this time showing us a potential look for the next generation Opel Corsa.

The small city car looks pretty much the same as the current Corsa, but adopts new Adam-inspired grille and front/rear lights.

The 2015 Corsa will be unveiled this October during the Paris Motor Show and will continue to ride on the same SCCS platform (Small Common Components and Systems) as its predecessor. Chances are it could be offered with the Adam's 3-cylinder 1.0-liter SIDI Turbo engine producing 90 PS (66 kW) and 115 PS (85 kW).

2015 Opel Corsa OPC Seen Testing New 1.6 SIDI Turbo

The Opel Corsa has not been good at any particular thing for as long as we can remember, but in the last year of production, the current model has shown the first glimmer of hope. Just as the new Clio RS and Fiesta ST came out, Vauxhall launched the VXR Clubsport in Britain, reminding the world that they've been making 1.6-liter turbo engines for much longer.

It's already defeated the lazy Clio RS's twin-clutch gearbox and the underpowered Fiesta ST on the track. A brand new Corsa OPC is likely to come out in 2015, since it's been testing for over a year now. Given all that we've said so far, this could very well be the best supermini hot hatch on the market.

This video taken by TourClips at the Nurburgring track shows this contender for the title in great detail. It's just a test prototype with many of its body panels borrowed from the outgoing Corsa D. But the part we're interested in is under the bonnet, the 1.6-liter SIDI turbo engine from the latest generation of Opel mills. It features a lighter block, direct injection and a more responsive charger. Fuel-saving measures such as better thermal management and low-friction cylinders will drop consumption to about 8 l/100km. Liked to it is a six-speed cog rowing machine which Opel believes is much better than anything before it.

The package will be kept as pure as possible: big power (200 hp or more), manual gearbox, big brakes and a sporty exhaust note… all the time. The only chink in its armor is the price. OPC products have always been a tad pricy, leaving plenty of room for the cheaper Fiesta ST and the manual Polo GTI also coming in 2015. We believe that car will drop the 1.4 for a bigger 1.8 TSI making 192 hp, available for the first time with a manual.

Opel / Vauxhall Corsa E Spied Undisguised

See that brownish subcompact car? That's the production version of the 2015 Opel Corsa posing for its first official photo shoot. Thanks to this little Parisian promenade andBlog Automobile's crack team of spy photographers, we found out how the Corsa E looks like in the flesh four months before Opel will officially unveil the B-segment city dweller at the Paris Auto Show.

From the looks of it, there's not much change between the current generation of the German runaround and the all-new model. The profile is almost the same between the two except from the lower crest, while the front fascia and headlights borrow visual cues from the Adam. Rear passenger doors and windows have a whiff Meriva to their styling, while the sculpted flanks and tail lamps are definitely inspired from the Astra compact hatchback.

Even though first official specs and photographs of the 2015 Corsa will see the light of day on July 10th, we can already tell you that the 1.0-liter three-cylinder pocket powerhouse which debuted on the Adam back in February will find its way under the bonnet of the all-new Opel/Vauxhall Corsa. This unit delivers 166 Nm of torque from just 1,800 rpm and is currently available in two power levels: 90 hp and 115 hp.

In the Adam, the 1.0-liter EcoTec SIDI direct injection turbo engine returns 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers on the combined cycle according to the manufacturer. This is a natural move from the German carmaker if you take into account that both the Renault Clio and Ford Fiesta are offered with turbocharged three-cylinder mills that churn out at least 90 horsepower and boast competitive fuel consumption figures.

On the inside, we know from a previous set of spy photos from our talented team of carparazzi that the 2015 Opel/Vauxhall Corsa gets a steering wheel adapted from a Chevrolet design, as well as a very clean dashboard design and higher quality materials throughout the cabin. At the present moment, the Corsa E isn't shaping up to be the all-new model we've been expecting, but more of a facelift with benefits, don't you agree?

New Opel Corsa Configurator Launched in Germany. Prices Start at €12,000

Ahead of the car's debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, Opel has put the new Corsa on sale in Germany. The official website already listsconfigurators for both the 3- and 5-door models with all the trim levels and the engines listed.

The 3-door Corsa is of course the cheapest to buy, starting at only €11,980, which is just €230 more than the ADAM. Unfortunately, we'd stop short of calling it cheap, since the standard engine is a 1.2-liter with 70 PS and a 5-speed manual that does 0 to 100 km/h in 16 seconds. It falls in emissions class D, while the "Selection" trim level (picture above) doesn't come with LED accents or alloy wheels and has a dark, bland interior. Prices are, however, on par with the 2014 VW Polo, starting at €12,600 in Germany.

The new Corsa is also offered with a 90 PS 1-liter turbo engine, which when paired to a 6-speed will set you back €14,480 in Germany. Only the more expensive 5-door model receives a 115 PS version of the same 1-liter turbo.

Diesel models start at €14,930, in which case you get a 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX with 75 PS. The 95 PS version of the same engine is the most expensive all-new Corsa you can buy at €15,730 in standard trim (it can reach about €19,000 though).

If you want an Opel Corsa with only two pedals, there are two options: an automated manual and a six-speed auto, both mated to a 1.4-liter engine.

On the technology side, the new Corsa introduces a host of new features. The IntelliLink infotainment system uses a 7-inch screen and can be ordered for as little as €300 (£250). High-spec cars will also get bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime runners and even Park Assist or Blind Sport Alert are offered as part of a €580 package. If you're not confident in your parking skills, the reversing camera is another cheap option at €295 on the Opel model.

2015 Opel Corsa OPC spotted without disguise

2015 Opel Corsa OPC spy photo / autoblog.gr

Could debut in Paris next month
Revealing images of the 2015 Opel Corsa OPC have surfaced the web, prior to an expected launch at next month's Paris Motor Show.

Opel and Vauxhall unveiled the new generation Corsa back in July and already it seems the hotter OPC variant is ready to be launched as well. The undisguised car was photographed in Opel's parking lot carrying a beefed up body kit and larger bi-color alloy wheels. It was the three-door variant wearing a Blue Flash paint and equipped with a vented hood, bigger air vents and a dual exhaust arrangement featuring chrome pipes.

A report issued earlier this year by German media indicated the Opel Corsa OPC will get a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter SIDI Turbo engine delivering 200 PS (147 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque which should be enough for a 136 mph (220 km/h).

Opel and Vauxhall could decide to bring the Corsa OPC/VXR at the Paris Motor Show which kicks off on October 2 with the first press day.

Special thanks go to George from AutoBlog.gr for sending us the tip!

2015 Opel Corsa OPC spied testing on the Nurburgring
Could have 200 HP & 300 Nm
A new spy video shows Opel is still testing the 2015 Corsa OPC which will likely be revealed in the following months.

Exactly one month ago we saw an undisguised2015 Corsa OPC so we assumed the car was bound to show up at the Paris Motor Show but that didn't happen which means Opel has probably decided to unveil the car in March 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show.

In this video there's a camouflaged prototype testing on the Nürburgring and hiding the visual tweaks which we already saw, such as the bigger air vents, a hood scoop, restyled lower grille, chrome dual exhaust pipes as well as updated headlights & taillights which haven't been fitted onto this prototype.

Back in July there was a report from Autobild saying the 2015 Opel Corsa OPC will be powered by a four-cylinder 1.6-liter SIDI turbocharged gasoline engine generating 200 HP (147 kW) and a maximum torque of 300 Nm (221 lb-ft). The same source indicated the vehicle will be able to hit a top speed of 136 mph (220 km/h). There's no word about the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run but chances are it will take a bit less than the current model's 7.2s.

Since a March 2015 public debut is very probable, expect Opel to reveal the new Corsa OPC online in the following months.

Opel Corsa LPG revealed
Has 90 HP
Opel has unveiled the Corsa 1.4 LPG, equipped with a factory LPG system.

The “Mr. Clean” in the Corsa family has 90 HP (66 kW) that come from a 1.4-liter engine. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and needs 6.9 liters/100 km over the combined cycle using Liquefied Petroleum Gas with CO2 emissions of 113 g/km. The German manufacturer says fuel costs are reduced by almost 50 percent compared to gasoline versions.

Opel also explains the Corsa LPG comes ready for bi-fuel operation directly from the factory. The driver can switch between LPG and gasoline by pushing a button that controls a newly developed module. The car has a combined driving range of up to 1,200 km on a signle charge of the LPG and petrol tanks.
