Mclaren Honda just launched their latest challenger...Surprisingly it is in black, red and SILVER, not the iconic red and white color scheme.

The build up to their launch has been utter blasphemy. The excessive use of image of Senna's car and orange Mclaren F1s was misleading given that this year's livery is neither orange nor red and white. Over the car's design looks very tidy and I'm keen to see that Prodromu will be able to contribute with on the aerodynamic front once he has nested into the team.

Not sure why they decide to keep the chrome silver and black color scheme, given that the partnership with Mercedes is well and truly over. White and Red is surely the most logical choice?

I remember Eric Boullier said that Prodromu provided Mclaren with a clear direction of development, hopefully this car would have benefited from his late involvement, for Alonso's sake.

I´m really surprissed tooto see the silver still on their car. I was expecting something similar but with white. Let´s hope Prodromu makes this team better.

Sauber C34

First impression, this is one hideous looking design and the IKEA color scheme doesn't' help either. That nose looks eve worse than last year's car, now it looks limp and impotent.

Press release:

Sauber took the covers off their 2015 car on Friday, and revealed a brand-new blue and yellow colour scheme.

The Ferrari-powered C34, to be raced by the team’s all-new driver line-up of Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr, succeeds the disappointing C33 which last year became the first F1 car produced by the Swiss team not to score a single point.

During the development of the C34, Sauber say their engineers focused on three areas: performance in slow corners, weight reduction, and braking stability. The new car also features a striking new nose design (in response to changes to the technical regulations regarding nose height and shape), slimmer sidepods, a less voluminous rear end and a revised radiator layout.

Speaking ahead of the new car’s track debut in Spain on Sunday, Sauber team principal Monisha Kaltenborn said: “2014 was a very disappointing year. However, this is in the past, and we now focus on what comes next. We have learned our lessons and are confident for the new season.”

“We have to improve, and be able to fight for championship points.”

Ericsson, who will be the first of Sauber’s drivers to put the C34 through its paces, added that it is important that the team put last year’s struggles behind them.

“After a difficult season, we want to move forward and fight in the midfield like the team previously did,” commented the Swede. “From a driver’s point of view, I want to continue to learn and establish myself as a Formula One driver. I have the feeling of being in the perfect environment to do so. In Formula One it is difficult to have precise targets, as it depends on the overall package. It is clear that we want to be fighting for points.”

Like Ericsson, rookie Nasr, who finished runner up in the GP2 Series last year, feels ready to take up the challenge of returning Sauber to the points, even though he admits there is much for him to learn.

“In my role as test and reserve driver for Williams last year, I was involved in every race weekend,” said the Brazilian. “Furthermore, I also had the chance to drive the car a few times, so I think I have a certain understanding of Formula One. Now I am taking the next step in being a race driver, and I am looking forward to bringing my experience from 2014 as well as to supporting the Sauber F1 Team in getting back into the points.”

Sauber will use a roll-out version of the C34 at the first pre-season test in Jerez, featuring some components from the Sauber C33 that will eventually be replaced by new parts. “We were able to gain a lot of experience during the course of the 2014 season, which will have an influence on the Sauber C34,” said chief designer Eric Gandelin. “We will use the time up to Melbourne to ensure we’re as competitive as possible when we line up on the grid for the season opener.”

Here's Force India's new look, though that is not the final 2015 car.

The team’s traditional green, white and orange colours of the Indian flag have been replaced by silver, black and orange. The team had started to introduce black to the car last year, and Team Principal Vijay Mallya admits it was a conscious decision to make the car look more aggressive.

“It’s another evolution of the contemporary look we introduced last year which reflects the growth of the team and the global brands with which we are working," he said.

However, while the team may have had their new look ready for a public unveiling, there was no sign of the 2015 VJM08 which will not run until the second pre-season test in Barcelona. There was, though, a new look nose attached to the chassis.

Ferrari and the similarly-powered Sauber teams on Friday separately revealed their new 2015 cars.

Ferrari's long and low-nosed new car, to be raced by former Red Bull champion Sebastian Vettel, is the SF15-T.

Team boss Maurizio Arrivabene said the Maranello team, having completed a revolutionary shake-up after its disappointing 2014, is targeting "at least two" race wins this season after the drought of last year.

"The car looks beautiful," said Vettel.

Teammate Kimi Raikkonen agreed: "When it looks good it should be a pretty good car, but obviously we have to wait until we get testing and see how it is."

Arrivabene, meanwhile, dismissed recent reports that Rory Byrne, the legendary Ferrari designer who shone in the Michael Schumacher era, had stepped up from a mere advisory role.

"Rory will act as a mentor for (designer) Simone Resta," he insisted, "on specific project details and he will not work on the whole car project.

"Anyway, his (Byrne's) enthusiasm and the energy he shows have really amazed me. He still wants to win!"

Sauber, meanwhile, confirmed speculation it has switched from its customary grey livery by revealing the striking blue and yellow C34, in the colours of new driver Felipe Nasr's major backer Banco do Brasil.

Germany's Auto Motor und Sport revealed that heavy modifications to Ferrari's turbo V6 engine for 2015 required Sauber to make significant chassis changes compared to last year.

"2014 was a very disappointing year," said team boss Monisha Kaltenborn. "We have to improve and be able to fight for championship points."

Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time for Ferrari on the first day of the F1 pre-season testing in Jerez, Spain. The testing will go on till February 4th as teams prepare for the new season which starts on March 15th. Another Ferrari powered car- the Sauber C34 of Marcus Ericsson set the second fastest time of the day at 1m 22.777s after completing 73 laps. Nico Rosberg gave Mercedes the third fastest time of the day at 1m 23.106s in the Mercedes-AMG W06 which was unveiled today. Rosberg completed a total of 157 laps recording the highest number of laps from today.

There is still no word on whether Caterham and Marussia will make it for the season premiere race. All other teams have at least revealed a new car and are attending the pre-season testing.

There's too much black paint in that Ferrari livery - it doesn't need to be like this. All red is better for an F1 Ferrari and is better for F1 too.

Ferrari sf15-t. It sounds louder to me
