So, I came home yesterday from college to my father's brand new Audi. And I got to drive it today, and boy was it fun! Though it came with the 6-speed automatic, I was able to adapt to the Tiptronic very quickly, although some of the changes are much slower than I would have liked. However, this car is by no means slow. It's really easy to speed, and 65 in this car feels half that. It rips, roars, and makes all the right noises, with just a little bit of that beautiful turbo whine at high revs. I wasn't able to really enjoy the car, as my dad and mom were in the car with me, but it was a ball to drive. It's the first car I've driven where you can accellerate THROUGH the corners. The AWD is seamless, I could never tell which wheels were driving, though it never felt like the minivan (FWD) or the Jeep (RWD), but certainly something in between. The interior is beautiful and soft, if black, and the real aluminium trim looks excellent. Even the back seats are "roomy" for someone like me: 5 foot 10 inches tall with very long legs. I feel more comfortable in the back of the A4 than I do riding in the back of my grandfather's Lincoln LS. The steering wheel is nice and thick, and small around so it makes one handed driving a snap. The instrument panel is perfect, easy to read, and well laid out. The 2.0 liter FSI, turbocharged and intercooled engine makes a wonderful growl out the twin pipes, even when you're not driving spiritedly. And the exterior has so much more presence in person than it does in pictures; it looks mean and purposeful!
So that's my review, and here are the pictures I took:
