There are very few times in life where I'm envious, approaching jealousy....... Uh hello Sunny......

M

I will probably loose some essential part of my anatomy even if mention another car.

Ηow about presenting it to your significant half as a collector's item? Or a museum piece? Or even as something to decorate your garage?

:D

^ I think I know Sunny a bit, and I also think this is absolutely nothing for him, as magnificent as this car is.

Cars like these make one remember why MB fans want a coupe without B pillar....

Cars like these help us not forget that once upon the time, the automotive industry made true pieces of art, true automobiles, and not devices, the first priority of which is to protect the driver from his own stupidity and incompetence.

Even the cheapest Fiat back then more than a mean of transport. It was a whole idea, other than a horseless carriage. The automotive sector back then was more pure, more romantic, just better, no matter the technological breakthroughs made since then.

"Today" is shallow from a lot of perspectives and the automotive industry sadly follows this trend.

Personally, had I not have to survive through this @#$%^&*)

I actually dig it a lot. In a world where money and garage space is aplenty, I would have one in a heart beat. But if I get an older Merc, it will be the 500E first.

Yeah I'd want one too if money and garage space was no problem ;)

@Sunny i have few taps from hemmings open for like 2 months now. I think I am coming to US next March and I have to pick a classic. was planning a rare pony car. But that Benz will do !

I think I will have to build a protouring classic american muscle. I keep going that route no matter what.

And which automotive brand has the richest history with beautiful models in the 2 door or 4 door or 6 door categories. I think we all know the answers if we are Mercedes fans or not:).

History does matter a lot if one is treating automobile at the emotional level. I am glad that my favorite car brand is there from the very first day of modern automobile.

Gorgeous 1965 Mercedes 220 SE Coupe With Only Two Prior Owners Yours for $25,900

One would quickly run out of epithets if that was the chosen course for describing this Mercedes 220 SE two-door, built in 1965. It has 11,000 miles or about 17,600 km on the odometer and from every angle you look at it (in the photos provided and posted below), it’s hard to fault.
That’s partly to the credit of Mercedes for building a solid and timeless-looking car, but the effort of its owners of having kept it looking this good is not to be sneezed at.

If the looks alone don’t do enough for you, then perhaps the smooth fuel-injected straight-six will. The 2.2-liter unit was the smallest engine in the range, but when it powered the Coupe model, power was upped from the saloon’s output of 93 hp to a more respectable 118 hp.

More powerful variants were available, though, and the 280 SE Coupe, with the 3.5-liter engine nudged 200 hp.

Back to the car at hand, its owner, who’s had it since 1989, says the blue paint is all original, as is the wood dashboard, though the latter is one of the things that needs replacing. What’s nice about the interior is that it features (rare) original bucket seats.

The car is currently located in Castle Pines, Colorado, and the asking price on Craigslist is $25,900.
