New Volkswagen Passat and Passat Estate Design Package

Appealing, personal and sporty

Passat customers can now upgrade their vehicle using the “design package” from Volkswagen Individual: the package gives both the saloon and the estate versions an appealing, personal and sporty touch.

The love of the car is often reflected in the details: with dark chrome radiator grille, side window trims and rear lettering in the new “design package” for the Passat, for example. The anthracite-painted 18 inch “Chicago” alloy wheels with five double-spoke design and gloss finish are also an eye-catcher. These are combined with a 15 millimetre lower sports suspension which is specifically tuned to match the wheels. Tinted rear and side windows match the dark chrome and wheels.

There are also some interior options available.

Well, this isn't too bad at all. The "dark chrome" grille is certainly good for those who don't want the boldness of the bright chrome version.

I wonder whether I'll warm up to the new Passat enough to consider getting one.

Looks good. I especially love how it looks so clean and sophisticated. Where the Phaeton looks fat and heavy, the Passat looks taut and lean.

I pondered about this for a moment - no, it doesn't look like the A8's front. Maybe a distant resemblance, but it's not obvious. You can't really tell unless you really look and cycle the frame through your mind for a few times.

The Passat looks good in black, like those rims as well!

Why would you spend all this money on a VW when you could get a BMW or a Merc though?

Thats not nice, we have plenty of VW/Porsche lovers here. Its different some people like to stick to the makes they love and many love VW's. Great car's and different drive, not everyone likes BMW's, and MB's strictly, many switch just to enjoy something different...

PS. Its not really as pricey as a MB/BMW, and for the money you get alot of car and alot of options..... they are put together really well....
