wonder if it will be possible to convert the pre-facelift, since mine is only 2 yo

the rear doors, the hood, front bumper, lights rear and front and grillie ... i guess

(ok the inside and the new electr. gimmicks not included)

anyone ideas of prices for the new parts?

Ofcourse its possible..but you might as well sell it and buy a new car.

As its to much of a change..

I think both the Pre and post FL E classes have a distinct charterer, and both are very nice.

I would be happy with either:)

PS
Post some pictures of your E class, ( and other cars aswell)

The repair shop that i used to visit did convert some W124 E to facelifted E only when the car had had pretty big front and rear accidents. The pre-facelift and facelift parts cost about the same and the owners only paid a little extra on top of what the insurer paid for the new panels and parts.

Also, bear in mind that your car might actually lose value if you do carry out such a conversion as prospective buyers might think your car has had a big accident before. Unless you keep the old panels and parts to prove the conversion was done in good faith and not a repair.

I'd say the market value of a converted car would be significantly lower than if the car had been the way it should have, and in the case of W124 (the last great Merc), if you have a good example, hold on to it!

My family had a couple of those 124's in the early-mid 90's. Great cars. Felt like driving a safe! I did a search on the Swedish vehicle register to find out what happened to the first one we had, "the great white". It died at the age of 15, with 910,000 kms on the oddo. Respect.

^Respect indeed!

Oh and FYI the headlights (bixenon) on the pre FL are effin 10K swedish PER HEADLIGHT.

And that's not even from Mercedes, so i think the headlights alone on the FL will cost you around 3000 euro and thats without fitting ;)

on the old w211 one of my drivers had an accident and one of the "bixenon-curve-frontlights" costed about 1.400 @

so thats without the xenon controller...

will be expensive :(

^yeah just forget about it..

Sell your E and get a new one..

What model and equipment is your current E?

no :/ an amg package is too sporty for chauffeur service and the suspension is too hard my dear :(
