Walked by a Phaeton today and everytime I see this car I'm amazed by its looks and how this car still gets so little respect. When I stared at it I though I really wanted to do a photoshoot on the car to really bring out its elegance so more people could see it. But as I can't do a photoshoot on it I'd like to request some nice pics of it:)

Hit me with your best:usa7uh:

This has always been a great looking car with a stunning interior, but all wrong for VW. Such a shame because it is an engineering marvel.

From what I hear, VW will be presenting a sneek peak to German owners of the Phaeton of a facelift in March. Looks like it won't be the last we see of this.

Uh oh.....but alas we won't see it again here in the U.S. I'm going to look at some used ones this summer. I want to see/feel the engineered to death A/C system do its thing.

Re: Phaeton Picture Thread.

Nice pictures! The Phaeton has a timeless design, both inside and outside, I don't think it is showing its age yet... I really like the tail lights, which look more advanced than any of its competitors (except maybe for the BMW 7er, which also has nice CELIS LEDs).
Somehow, VW gives you the feeling that the Phaeton is more special than a BMW 7er, Mercedes S or Audi A8; by building this special assembly line (very clean, wooden floors, a lot of glass, employees wearing clean suits), it almost appears as if every Phaeton is custom-built, although I suppose the production method doesn't differ from other factories (of competitors)?

Used ones are a great second hand buy. Don't get your hands itchy now... :D But I'm sure you'll still rather keep your Benz. :usa7uh:

The A/C actually is quite typical. Maybe it's because of the climate here in Singapore... It's on full blast or at least running half its capacity all the time, so we never get to see those airconditioner wooden panels close by itself. Also, I have to admit the "diffused cooling" doesn't really work very well, and the window fog demister gets defeated by the morning chill.

I agree with you 100%. :usa7uh: Where the car is built certainly gives an impression on how the cars are built. I'm still wondering why MB/BMW/Audi aren't capitalising on this.

Re: Phaeton Picture Thread.

Oh believe me I'll just be going joy test driving, not buying. The CLK (Ursla) is here to stay, we're so much in love.
