I finally had a chance to check out the G 63 properly over the weekend. Everything on this car has a nuclear bunker solidity feel to it, from body shell, to the doors, the handles, the locks, the switches. It is unbelievable how well built this car is, it doesn't feel its age, and it makes most modern cars feel like toys.
Will the replacement be a new car from the ground up?I hope the rumors about them keeping this one in production along with the new one, are true. I would have both new and old in my fleet.

Nope, my take on it is that they're going to gut the current body shell and give it a new interior, widen it about 4 inches for better stability and bring the suspension up to date for a better on road ride/handling balance. The exposed door hinges, upright windshield, bank vault door slam sound and construction, and the current G's other little character (elements/flaws) will remain but they will be refined so they can be more tolerable to more buyers.

I don't think it feels its age either until it's time to turn the wheel. I'm really looking forward to this new one, as I think it will actually be a viable candidate for a DD instead of a toy.
What's wrong with the G's steering?
