A-Class [Spy Shots] Mercedes-Benz A-Class Facelift Spied

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. It has been marketed across generations as a front-engine, front-wheel drive, five-passenger, five-door hatchback, with a three-door hatchback offered for the second generation, as well as a saloon version for the fourth.
Since the A follows the B, this table may be useful, in which jesmb summarized the changes for the recent B-Class facelift. Some are new, some have more power, some consume less, some adhere to stricter emissions. Believe some of the entry level CDIs at present are based on Renault engines. They may also feature the new steel pistons, to improve the fuel economy a further 3% and help to adhere to EU6. :)

A45 AMG S to Get 385 HP and a New Bumper to Compete with the RS3

For over a year, the A45 and its sister sedan, the CLA 45, were the talk of the town. But Audi has revealed a more powerful, much faster RS3 model, stealing Mercedes' thunder in the process. To get it back, some pretty serious upgrades have been planned and will come out at the same time as a facelift for the whole A-Class range.

We've known this information since late 2014, when the AMG boss let slip a version of the A45 with more power will debut in the fall of 2015. So, do you want extra details that nobody else has yet? Well here you go:

We've discovered this photograph of a German print magazine that hasn't launched yet. In it, there's a rendering of the A45 AMG as it will look after its facelift. The redesign is based on the new C63 and uses a long metallic air blade to define the bottom of the bumper. It's pretty normal stuff for Mercedes, but we're sure that this is still a rendering.

The sane unknown publication suggest a 25 PS power bump will be given to the A45 AMG S, resulting in a total output of 385 PS. The M133engine is already the highest specific output 2-liter ever used by a mass production vehicle, but the upgrade would give it 192.5 PS per liter. That's like a Ford Fiesta ST or MINI Cooper S with the same output they have today, but using a 1-liter.

Torque will also be up to a level that's actually more than what the new RS3 offers, but the sprint to 100 km/h will take 4.4 seconds, 0.1s more than than Audi claims.

At 59,980, the A45 AMG S will be about €10,000 more expensive than the model on sale today. It's an absurd amount of money to pay for a car with a four-cylinder engine, but this is Mercedes' first hot hatch and it comes with all the bells and whistles. So what if it costs as much as an E-Class?

Very weird... Looks like an ML interior... I am actually positive this is a photo mixup. No way that's the A class interior...

Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG facelift spied inside and out

Will get power bump
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG facelift has been spied for the first time featuring a light amount of camouflage.

Spotted in southern Europe, the prototype had some minor disguise on the bespoke grille, front and rear bumpers, as well as on the headlights and taillights which are bound to receive slightly different graphics. The side profile appears to be identical while the interior cabin will likely be carried over with some subtle revisions but nothing to write home about.

By far the most important change will be a power boost to dethrone the 367 HP Audi RS3 Sportback. In its current configuration, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG packs a 360 HP (265 kW) punch from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, but word on the street says output will be bumped to somewhere in the region of 380 HP (280 kW).

Taking into account the current A45 AMG needs 4.6 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h), the more powerful version will likely shave off 0.1s on its way to the same electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Mercedes-Benz will probably decide to unveil the revised A-Class family in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

That little cease above the headlights makes a huge (positive) difference. New bumper is an improvement too. Nicely done, I even like the color which is pretty original.

Also like the new grille graphics.

Subtle changes but well implemented. IMO the problems this car have won´t be solved until a whole new model comes. Which I expect a lot from to be honest. This current A-Class leaves me mixed feelings.

The styling of the A-class I really like a lot, I do think it is one of the best looking hatches in its class and these subtle updates (especially the new light graphics) add up to improve the looks further. The fundamental negative things of this A-class such as the poor boot shape, rear view obstructed by thick C-pillars and fixed rear seat headrests and the narrow back seat will hopefully be improved when the new model debuts

Front update looks good. The BIGGEST issues with the A-class/CLA set are poor interior build and quality, particularly the hard plastics around the transmission tunnel, and a fidgety ride with the AMG sports suspension. These are the areas MB should be addressing in the FL.
