Senna [Official] McLaren Senna (P15)

The McLaren Senna is a limited-production mid-engined sports car manufactured by McLaren Automotive. The car is the third addition in the McLaren Ultimate Series, joining the F1 and the P1; however, it is not a direct successor to either of the cars.

Stupidly they didn't include what the lap time was.
Luckily for us, Pistonheads did report on it. And it's 1:30.5

I found a 992.1 GT3 RS lap to compare it to. It did 1:34.5 on standard Michelin Cup 2.

Bruno Senna took to the Donington track in the McLaren hypercar that bears the Senna name. The McLaren Senna completed the circuit in 1m30.5s to set a new unofficial lap record for a road-going production car on the same Donington Park Grand Prix configuration at which Ayrton was famously victorious.

For benchmarking purposes - JCR GT2RS MR - 1:32.71 (mildy modded GT2 RS MR).

The weather was perfect and with limited attendance the track time was extremely valuable to us, testing some new parts plus debuting the JCR GT2RS MR in its new Neptune Blue paintwork courtesy of Logic VPC.
Not only did we enjoy some valuable track time and networking during the day, Porsche Sutton Coldfield and Porsche GB arranged for us to have 30 mins exclusive track time during the lunch break for us to attempt in breaking the current fastest road legal car's fastest lap time of a 1:34.29.
The weather was on our side and the empty track was the perfect set up for this so we were very excited to get out there to give the lap a go. We installed a new set of Michelin Cup2R tyres and on the second flying lap beat the current fastest lap time by 1.42 seconds and secured a new road car lap record of 1:32.71.

When it launched, the Senna was considered ugly. The design makes more sense now that we have seen the W1 and F80.

I personally never considered this car to be ugly. It was awkward at beginning for me, but IMO the best way to describe its looks is that it isn't exactly "aesthetic" or pleasing to the eye like a P1 or a 765LT, but it's more of a car that looks good because of the presence it's got. If you look at the shape of the car in itself, it can be awkward and is very dependant on angles. It is also very dependant on specs. But man, that thing in race mode is so low, looks wide, it's almost like you're looking at an LMP car from some angles. Maybe it's not the "prettiest", but it's certainly one of the most impressive looking road cars in the world, at least to me. I also love the fact it doesn't give a sh*t about how you think it looks, because it is too busy setting lap records everywhere. (still holds 10+ magazine lap records to this day, it's 7 years old.)

This is the kind of content Ben should have been doing all along. There's no one with more credibility at Dunsfold in particular, and he's great at presenting too.
Shame about the track conditions.
