FFS, why this guy?! Just stick to phones, lol.
He has an auto focus channel. He reviewed the Fisker Oceon and will kick the tyres of the next Bugatti which also uses some form of electric propulsion.

For big brands, marketing is marketing. More eye balls = increased perceived value = increased demand = increased release value. It’s all PR.

This is why Ferrari took their thumbs out of their backside and started working with influencers like Shmee Which would have been unthinkable 10 years ago.

There's very little value in his car related articles. I'd rather read Jack Rix before this Johnny-come-lately tech guy. That's how little I think of him.
I’d rather watch Marques Brownlee than dishwater-dull Jack Rix. Brownlee is astute and analytical; he does his own research and has built a solid business out of insightful and objective product reviews. His proven approach to assessing tech makes for a natural progression into automotive.

There’s nothing Johnny-come-lately about him compared with the attrition of quality motoring journalism on YouTube. Mighty Chris Harris is little more than an online 2nd hand car salesman; with Hagerty, Henry Catchpole is scarcely in anything new and exciting; Bovingdon is confined to the West Coast; supreme Sutcliffe is AWOL and EVO’s finest & their content is regionally restricted. In terms of helmsmanship at Top Gear, Ollie Marriage is respectable which is redeeming as Jack Rix isn’t much of a driver.

The standard of audiovisual journalism in motoring is at an all time low. Much of it now is performative and exhibitionist as opposed to being informative and insightful. I can fully appreciate why Rimac Bugatti would give MKBHD the gig.

Not hating on the update, of course. That part is cool.

Can anyone decipher that scribble on the item?
Is it Pour l'éternité?
"Pour l'étérnité" means forever or something that will last forever.

Yeah, big mainstream brands sure. Thing is, Bugatti is like the tiniest car company of them all and, and if there's one who doesn't play by these mainstream rules it's Bugatti.
3 million Dollar cars don't need any marketing like that whatsoever at all. Resale value? Are you kidding?

The point is, Rix at least gets sent to drive and write much more than Brownlee and is exposed to the other journos so there's a chance he might still develop his craft. And occasionally he gets to write the type of stuff that isn't heavy on driving, where such expertise doesn't need to come into play.
On the other hand, he never did show any signs of growing the balls to be critical. He just parrots press releases without much critical thought.

I don't care about MKBHD's tech reviewing credentials. That has nothing to do with cars and driving. He is the better presenter, but I've never actually seen him produce anything that I would consider a proper magazine article, therefore I don't consider him a writer.
His focus is a consumer electronics and therefore, for me, who considers cars to be more than just products, he's a low-level life form, for all intents and purposes.
He absolutely is a newcomer in the space. His oldest video on his dedicated car channel is one year old. On his main channel, he drove some supercars around LA 5 years ago. His passion as a teenager was never cars, it was telephones!
The fact that it took cars becoming tech-y, interchangeable and lame for him to finally take notice, tells you all you need to know.

His only potential redeeming quality is the fact that his income isn't reliant on cars and so he could maybe poke the bear without having to worry about the wrath of the industry. But then again he's the least qualified person to do so. And I don't mean just shitting on Fisker Ocean. I'm talking about established players.

His Hard Drive segment in TG magazine is an absolute waste of two pages every single time. You could get the same quality writing if you hired a random guy from Bangladesh on fiverr.com
I find it funny how they need to plaster his face on it as if a disclaimer that: sorry, what you're about to read is mindless trash written by an e-celeb.

Look what you made me do. I can't believe I'd have to defend Jack Rix, lol.

CH's step back from the spotlight is sad to see. Seems like he almost enjoys losing influence, which is very strange to me.
BTW, I'd like to give shoutout to Ollie Kew, who does seem to push back on manufacturers' marketing bs occasionally. Maybe he's the chosen one to deliver us from evil, so to speak :D

In the world of tech, he's at the top of reviewing all things tech. Rimac is no longer small, with partnerships with both Porsche, Bugatti, and BMW. So getting his opinion is not only an entertaining review of the new successor but the technological capabilities that Rimac has and this is how you slowly make way into a younger generation's headspace about whose the best.

I've a few car related projects in a few places. Bugatti punches WAY WAY out of their league for their size.

Just be thankful it's not Supercar Blonde, although I'm sure that sack of potatoes will get one of the first looks.

Chiron successor will be show on June 20th at Molsheim.
Anyone here hear any new info on the looks of this car? Bugatti always leveraged their coachbuilding expertise and people have talked a lot about the interior and performance of the car but have heard little at all about the design.

Future teasers will give a good indication of the car design.

Exciting! Is it a model car or a real car?

Full model with final interior and exterior.

*Monty Python and the Holy Grail voice:
It's only a model
It'll be a fully functioning pre production prototype. It's going on sale '26. And they've been working on it for atleast 3 years.

Unlike some manufacturers they'll get it done even on reduced budgets.

Just recieved this photo from my insider friend from Rimac. This prototype matches those previous photos of finished car that i saw earlier. Taillight are vey simmilar to la voiture noire, as i said in previous posts.

I think this is first spy photo of chiron succesor. Exclusive for germancarforum. Cheers!
