For the CLS I remember, because it's the same car with same dimensions as the W212, and the W212 was already launched.
But for the C class I don't even remember seeing a different interior (this close to launch no less)
Either way, even if the C lass had a fake interior, this E class is the real deal. No doubt.
But on the other hand, the area with the wood and vents looks very clean now. It depends on the way you look at it, because I like the 'jammed up look' for the lower console, makes it look less empty and bland.

The area where the dash meets the center console, the HVAC switch gear in the E
seems to clash with the flowing dash line under the air vents. It could have been sorted out better I think. It looks a little jammed up...
