C-Class (W205) [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe (C205) - Spy Pics & Info

The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. The fourth-generation C-Class was available in sedan (W205), station wagon/estate (S205), coupe (C205), cabriolet (A205) and long-wheelbase sedan (V205) body styles.
I found these renders @Wolfgang posted last year before the C-class saloon was launched and I think its a pretty good indication what the real car will look like.

^ The rear is nothing whatsoever like the real car. The front is like every other C and the side in the chop reminds me of a Megane coupe.

Gorrible.

There are some details completely off on these renders compared to the prototype :
- The character line on the side should be higher and go through the door handle
- The glass between the B-pillar and C-pillar will probably look more like the previous C-class coupe and AMG GT
- The rear glass look bigger on the render
- The licence plate should be on the bumper

TBH, I'm slightly disappointed. I expected it to differ more from the C Class, just like 4 Series is different to the 3 Series.

It seems as if the difference between C and C Coupe will be the same as with W204 Sedan and Coupe. Hopefully, official pics will prove me wrong.
Hopefully not!

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe to debut in Frankfurt
Will have a “more beautiful design” than the S-Class Coupe
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is set to make its world debut during the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.

Until now it was believed the vehicle will be introduced in December, but a new report from Autocar says the car is coming to the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

According to our source, the new two-door model will be even “sleeker” than the S-Class Coupe with a “more beautiful design”, while also being “even better to drive than it looks”, as design chief Gorden Wagener explains. The new Coupe will become the third member of the C-Class family after the sedan and the estate. Following the Coupe debut, Mercedes will also reveal and a convertible version of the model.

Most likely the engine options of the C-Class Coupe will be identical with the standard C-Class, which means a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit with 241 bhp (179 kW) and a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 329 bhp (245 kW) will be available. The range-topping AMG version will get a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with no less than 469 bhp (350 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm).

I have my doubts about it being better looking than the S Coupe. It would be great if they debut both the regular version and the AMG at the same time. The U.S. market needs but 3 variants, C300, C450 and C63. Case closed. Ditto for the convertible.

2014 was a busy year for Mercedes-Benz, but this year is looking to equal if not overpass that. We saw some of Mercedes-Benz’s weapons of choice in Geneva, but the Stuttgart-based carmakers has big plans ahead. And they include the new C-Class Coupe.

Older rumors were saying that Mercedes will introduce the C-Class Coupe somewhere in December but according to new reports, Stuttgart might make an early move and showcase the C-Class Coupe on their own turf.

According to Autocar, the new C-Class Coupe will take on its executive brother with improved design cues and a better driving experience. Or to put it in Gorden Wagener’s words, “even better to drive than it looks”.

The upcoming C-Class Coupe will be underpinned by the MRA platform, as the rest of the C-Class range. There has been a plethora of spyshots circulating the internet in recent times, already showing a sharply raked windscreen, smoothly integrated into the sloping roofline.

We should also expect minor appearance tweaks here and there, especially in the front end, because Mercedes will most likely treat the car as a sportier model than its sedan and estate peers.

Mercedes will most likely transfer the engine options already available for the C-Class range to the new coupe. In this respect, clients could go for the 2.0-liter four-cylinder 243 HP on the C300 unit as well as the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 good for 333 HP.

A performance Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe version could also be on the table, most likely powered by the already-notorious 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Mercedes will also launch a convertible version for the C-Class - featuring a folding soft-top model - but there’s still a long way to go until that point.

I guess what you're saying here is that a new I6 is coming, yeah I know. I don't care what the engine is per say in the context of that post only that they need not bother with a 400 coupe.

It is showing a little more metal in the back now. I really hope they get this right. C450 Coupe please.

Looks good so far. I have a feeling they will keep the B-pillars, but give it pillarless doors.
