Sport Auto's notes regarding Hockenheim:
Unlike the Nordschleife north loop where a clean driving on the ideal line is crucial for a fast laptime, here on Hockenheim a good laptime depend on how hard the driver dare to push the car to the limits.
Extremely late braking and brutal out accelerating from the curves belong to the obligation program. The traction is thereby a very important factor. Since the average speed is relatively low, handling is more important than engine performance. Also the efficiency and stability (fading) of the brakes and transverse accelerations have large influence. (by Just_me)

Thanks Just Me!! Great Job! Wow these times are very interesting.


Some interetsing things I'm noticing:
The CGT is king of this track and the nurburgring apparently, Porsche really did that car well.
The R32 is slower than the 130 which is different than Top Gear's results.
The Gallardo SE is slower than the regular gallardo.
The 645i's time is way up there with some amazing cars...
The M3 CSL is just as fast as the SLR round the track!
Despite being the most powerful road car in the world the CL65 lags in this test.
The 535d time is faster than the XKR! lol. and its a diesel. Shame on Jaguar!

I'm impressed! It seems to me that the Carrera S is just a bit faster than the M6 on both this track and the Nurburgring....interesting though, they are very close...

Yea, that car is a beast! The best performance for the money. Probably the best performance car under 150k.......I kind of wish the Ford GT's gearbox wasnt broken to get a laptime comparable to the Z06?

I wonder what the RS4 can pull, Ford GT and some 63 AMG cars and also Z4M

What I noticed is that the Z06 time, there has a higher gap to its basic 400hp brother than it has to the Carrera.

M5 E39 quicker than CLS55 ? Kinda doesnt make sence , BTW that CLS 55 timing matches the E55's timing from last year , some thing fishy about that .:eusa_thin

Nothing fishy at all, just facts from Sportauto (maybe the driver had a bad day :D ).

It`s amazing how the RS4 V8 is faster than the E60 M5 around Hockenheim.
The Audi has some 87 less hp. This is proof the Audi is simply more athletic. Bring on the new RS6 in a hurry!:bowdown:

you know it as well (so you dont need to give me any excuses) that RS4 weigh less than M5, just look at M3 E46, its also faster than the new M5, next M3 will be even faster. So its not really a surprise the Rs4 is faster than M5. Its just logical.

Well if weight is an excuse than it`s a poor one. I know the SL65 is heavier
than the Lamborghini Diablo SV and the SL65 has a better track time!
1.15.6 vs. 1.16.4 Is it weight or just athetic talent.

You know it just like me, weigth and lower center of gravity are just a few examples what make a car fast around a track. Diablo is an old car and hardly a "state of art". Except for SLR and CLKDTM, the SL versions are handling excellent, they are underestimated. Just look at M6, its an heavy car but manage to do it in 1.14,4 min. I believe next M3 will be faster than the M6. Also there is a reason why F1 cars weigh as less as possible. Weight is an heavy issue on tracks and it aint a secret.

You should also bare in mind that the RS4 runs on semi racing tires.

thats true, I forgot about it. I wonder how much faster M3 CS is around Hockenheim compared to standard M3. :t-hands:

MAybe, Im not 100% sure but al least it will be a similar laptime. M6 is a heavy GT and M3's always been the ultimate M.
Dont forget future M3 CSL and M6 CSL, that will be a real battle :usa7uh:
