Videos SLR vs F599 GTB vid

nice vid, am I the only one not seeing the SLR 722? to me it looks like the normal SLR?

On another note anyone know why they dont do races from a dead stop (rather then rolling start races)? It would be interesting to see how these cars take off from the line

Yes it's a regular SLR not the 722,i guess they raced thar way not from a still to avoid the wheel spin:t-hands:

Something tells me the Ferrari driver wasn't working the thing thing right. I don't see a SLR being that much faster than a 599GTB. Then again from a rolling start the SLR's huge torque advantage comes into play I guess.

Re: SLR Vs 599

The SLR kills at straights with all that torque but the 599 will do twisties far more precisely than the SLR. Love that V8 supercharged sound though. :icondrool

Re: SLR Vs 599

That is what I was thinking, in fact I would think it would at least be tied up to a point. Car and Driver just got a 3.3 or something 0-60 time for the 599 and that is actually faster than what they got for the SLR, I think***.

Then again this was a rolling start so the SLR's torque may make the difference here?

Re: SLR Vs 599

This is ONE race, one race doesnt say much. Different cars, different drivers and the outcome might have been different.

Re: SLR Vs 599

That is true also. The guy in the 599 might not have known how to get the best of the F1 trans, if it had one.
