Škoda Official Skoda Superb II Thread

We’ve obtained the first official –and totally uncovered- image of the 2009 Skoda Superb sedan that will be presented at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show next March. According to the teaser release we acquired, Skoda supports that the second-generation Superb is going to offer “a generously-sized interior with a number of smart solutions and technologies”. The Czech carmaker’s flagship model is loosely based on the same architecture as the VW Passat.

Unlike the current 4door model, the new Superb will get a more versatile 5door (liftback) layout like the smaller Octavia. Though VW’s Czech subsidiary hasn’t released details yet, the range will most likely consist of the 140 HP 1.4 TSI, 160 HP 1.8 TSI and 200 HP 2.0 TSI gasoline engines and the 1.9 TDI and 2.0 TDI diesel units with various outputs. Later on, Skoda will probably add a V6 engine option.

The old one was so-so, it was "ok" car, but this...? This is at least 2 steps back in terms of design...

I did not like the precedent, it was such a Passat-copy and paste...
This one, well, I'm waiting for other pics. Not that bad, but it does not give me a very premium feeling from that pic.

@ Tyc, I disagree, it is not 2 steps back in term of design: the first Superb had no design at all, it was just an old Passat with very slightly different rear lights and longer rear doors... Here at least it looks like a Skoda.

Did you notice the "Superb" inscription in the front blinkers?

Yeah, i saw it, but the sad thing is that there's absolutely nothing Superb about this car... Especially from the design point of view...

Sorry, this looks everything, but Skoda.

Sure the old one looked like Passat a lot, but how does this look like? Like some mix of Korean and old American design... Catastrophe!

The guy who designed this utterly hideous car was probably on crack!The current Superb may be a bigger Passat but at least it doesn't look like crap!

I really miss the elegance of the old Superb!!

But hey, it's just a Super"B" and not a Super"A" - so I think the new design is okay, but nothing more then that.

I meen...did not see a good pic, but it apparently looks like it could put an Aztek to shame...
